Swan info

oh wow disneyfan. i love it that they took care of you for your 25th anniversary. that is so wonderful. i'm not looking for any kind of freebies, just a magical time at a new hotel for our anniversary. i do kind of hope we get some kind of luxury for that for our anniversary, though it will only be one year. oh well.

i do appreciate all of your comments about the swan and your recommendations and overall help to make our stay a pleasant one. i'm really excited about our soon to be stay there and really can't wait. please don't let the good stuff stop. please keep telling me all good things about the Swan. i'm loving it so much!!

Tinkerbela-
The Swan is a wonderful place and i'm looking forward to going back. Last year was truly magical as I didn't ask for any of the extras and they just gave it to us.
What makes it more special is the staff. We were treated very well and they were always upbeat and cheerful.

we got our confirmation number in the mail yesterday! i'm so excited. with all of your good words on the Swan, i'm so glad that we made the choice to stay there instead.

Tinkerbela-
Are you going to celebrate your anniversary because if so, don't forget to mention that to them.

I just booked the Dolphin for a few nites in August (my mom is a teacher, so we are using the $99 special-too good to pass up!) but after reading this thread & all your helpful hints, I think I'm switching to the Swan. Since everything will be packed anyway, we'd prefer a quieter hotel! Thanks for all your help!!!

Bear in mind that the Swan has double queen beds whereas the Dolphin has only double beds which is one of the reasons I prefer the Swan. With 2 teenage boys I need the bigger bed.

so, when you post "bump" you are bumping the thread back up to the top of the topic list for better visibility. You could just as easily type "kungaloosh"; it would have the same effect.

yes, we are celebrating our anniversary there. i will mention it to them. like i said earlier, i'm not looking for any kind of freebies or anything like that; i just want our 1st anniversary to be memorable and magical.

That's how it happened for me. I actually went to their website to the request section because I wanted an Epcot view and mentioned we were looking forward to our trip because we were celebrating our 25th anniversary and they took it from there. All the surprises were their doing and I was so happy what they did for us.

you can make requests on their website? oh wow! i have to check this out right now and see for myself. thanks disneyfan4.

Unless they changed the website, you go to reservations and to special requests. You will get an e-mail form to send to them. Include your reservation number and spg number. When we went you had to pay more for an Epcot view, but you should be able to upgrade from a standard view to a water or resort view just by being a member of spg.

Don't forget to request the turndown service. A little caution, if you do request the service, take all your stuff off the bed before you leave the room, we left the newspaper on the bed and my dh forgot he threw his credit card on that pile too, actually in the paper, the very efficient housekeeper threw out my dh credit card along with the newspaper, we have learned our lessson. Try a restraunt at the resort, Palio smells heavenly. Hopefully we will try it on our next trip.

Make sure to try Palio, it is wonderful!

SPG cards can be used at all the Starwood hotels, which include Sheraton (including Four Points), Westin, St.Regis, or W hotels. Technically I think the Swan is managed by Westin and the Dolphin by Sheraton.

SPG also includes the Luxury Collection... The Dolphin is the only Sheraton property to actually be treated as a Westin, having the Heavenly Bed instead of the Suite Sleeper. Is Mama T still running between resorts? We head to the Swan on Friday for the first time in a year! :cool1:

You can also go to the spg site, sign in, click on your reservation in "my account" and edit it add any special requests.

oh ok. but is there any preference on a room view that i should request?

Tinkerbela-
I'm sure you've read the other posts but you can make any requests online. You can even book services for the spa online!!

As another poster indicated--Thabo and Maria are great!!! I look forward to seeing them every morning and having breakfast and talking to them before we head out for the day. They are also great because anything that might be going on like delays or anything they know ahead of time and will inform us.
I can't wait to see them!!
