Swan Hotel

I am thinking of staying at the swan, a little less money then the boradwalk in which I have stayed at before. Will I be disappointed staying there, any feedback would be appreciated TIA

We really enjoyed it. It has a different feel to it, but it is right next door to the Boardwalk, so you can still easily stroll over there and enjoy it's atmosphere too. For us it was half the price(with the teacher discount of $149) which made it well worth it. We are going to stay at the Dolphin next time to try it out. I can't wait to return.

I don't think that you"ll be disappointed at all! It's a wonderful hotel. We are now DVC members but we always add a couple of days to our trip so that we can stay at the Swan too. The only perks you don't get:
DDP
ME
No charging to your room
None of these would keep me away.

We love the Swan! The Grotto pool is great, but the very best part is the beds!! mmmmm the beds!!! The Swan has the heavenly beds and they are wonderful!! The best beds!! So wonderful that it is hard to get your family to get up to go to the parks for opening. (We never made it for opening when we stayed there... who do you think won this one?) Since it is part of the Epcot resort area, it is also one of my favorite places to stay. I just love that area. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to pay for parking. Other than that, it was great! Enjoy your trip!

We love the Swan! The location is perfect for us and in the past the rate for FL residents has been $125 per night...beats $350 per night at the YC, BC and BW

The most comfortable bed I have ever had at a hotel. Huge remodeled rooms.

You can just call and ask for the teacher rate. You will have to show a school badge or check stub at check in. The rate is usually between $149-179 depending on the season and availability.

Yes, I think they are usually the same.
I think it would be fine, but you may want to call and ask.

We've stayed at the Swan and the Dolphin. We really like them both and our small kids did too. They have a great location and for the price really you can't beat it. They are deluxe resorts with a lot of amenities. They also have some great restaurants too. The Grotto pool is huge and really nice.

Also if you do stay at the Swan remember to sign up with www.spg.com now. When you stay at Starwood hotels (Westin, Sheraton, etc) including the Swan and Dolphin you get points for your stays. It can really add up. We now have 43,000 points which allows us 5 free nights at the Swan or Dolphin. It's probably the best points system around.

You earn 1 point for every dollar spent.We use ours for almost everything we buy and we will have enough for 3 free nights by the time our May trip rolls around and the 4th night we will only pay the $179 teacher rate. So 4 nights for half the price of 1 night at the Boardwalk equals a FABULOUS trip at a deluxe within walking distance or short boat ride to 2 Disney parks. Really a no brainer for us!

I'm a true Swan fan and as you can see I've stayed at alot of places but my heart truly now does belong to the Swan! I've never felt more like I was in Disney until my stays here. There is nothing like watching Illuminations from your balcony and being able to walk to Epcot (my favorite park) and MGM.

There is so much to enjoy there with YC, BC and BW all within walking distance.

The service is impeccable and the beds are truly "heavenly."

The rates can't be beat for a deluxe hotel and being an Starwood member you earn points towards free nights. Even the toiletries in the room are fantastic, they use Bath and Bodyworks products!!

You will enjoy your stay so give it a try.

We have stayed at the BWI once, back in 1999, and at the S/D many times over the years, see my sig. for dates, and I would go with the Swan over the BW everytime is the rate at the Swan was equal to or less than the rate quoted for the BW, YC or BC for that matter. The diff. that we notice the most is that you cannot charge back to your room from the parks not a big deal for us now as we just carry our Disney Visa cards with our APs instead of just our room keys. Now that we are used to doing this it is not even a big deal for us any longer. Go with the Swan use the money on a nice dinner or something else and enjoy.

Did you know that if you have enough points for 4 nights (40,000) - you get the 5th night free?

I LOVE the Swan and Dolphin, with my preference being for the smaller Swan. I stayed at the Swan this past March, April, and October. I'll return to WDW with my husband and kids Thanksgiving weekend, and we'll stay at the Dolphin. I can't wait!

The Swan seems closer to the Grotto pool, and is closer to the BW, Fantasia Gardens, and Epcot if you are walking.

The Swan is also alot quieter. There are many shops and food areas as well as the arcade at the Dolphin so there is alot of traffic. The only thing I don't like is the Swan doesn't have a laundry room and you have to go to the Dolphin. It's not that bad but I still keep making suggestions to the Swan to get their own
