swan hotel or wilderness lodge

Hi everyone this is my first post. I have been to disney world many times but never stayed in any disney resorts. I just wanted to find out what people prefer the swan and dolphin or wilderness lodge. We will be there for 2 weeks 1 week off the disney property, and one week on disney property. We are going to be there september 22 to october 6. we would get the nurses rate at swan and dolphin, but i can't find any good rates for widerness lodge the quote i got was $188 a nite AAA rate any suggestions would help

If price is the issue (from what it sounds you would prefer Wilderness Lodge), I would suggest booking Swan or Dolphin at the special rate and hope for a code for Wilderness Lodge for the time you are looking. I would think there is a good chance, but no guarantee. At the worse case, you would be at a very nice hotel right between Epcot and MGM.

My personal preference between those choices would be Wilderness Lodge, all things being equal.

Definitely WL. The theming is wonderful, EWP is fun to watch each evening, you have the boat launch to MK, depending on where your room is, you can watch the MK fireworks at night, watch the geyser erupt, you can ask to be flag family one morning, get a list of hidden Mickey's from the front desk to search for. I could go on...but I think you get the picture. This is by far our favorite resort! Keep watching Mousesavers for codes....I would think there'll be some issued as we get a little closer to your dates. Wherever you decide to stay, have fun!!

Having stayed at both the Swan, Dolphin AND the Wilderness Lodge, I'll always prefer the Epcot Resorts over any other.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that we didn't like the WL, we loved it! The theming is incredible! Very warm and inviting, totally removing you from the Florida atmosphere. You really do get transported to the pacific northwest, or to Yosemite!

Being at the Swan or Dolphin really makes me feel like I am on a tropical vacation! Palm trees, cool pastel colors, awesome Grotto Pool, and being close enough to walk to Epcot or MGM! At the S/D you are close enough to watch the fireworks from Illuminations every night!

I love both the S/D and the WL, but for completely different reasons!
