I have been going to WDW since 1977 (thanks Mom and Dad  ) I just returned from POFQ (stayed there 3x) and DH suggested the Swan or Dolphin for our next visit. I really want to stay at the CR. I read that the Swan and Dolphin offer "most" of the same perks as staying "on property". Can you peeps out there give me some pros and cons about staying at the Swan or Dolphin. I can save CR for another visit, I know I will love it there. Thanks!!

I stayed at the Dolphin last May for the first time and fell absolutely in love with the place! The rooms are large and very light. Our room overlooked Epcot so we could see fireworks everynight from our window. The heavenly beds are everything people say about them...wonderful!! The only drawbacks I see from staying there is you can't participate in the DP or ME. You can get EMH, bus transportation to the parks, you can park free at the parks. You can't charge with your room key while in the parks, but they will deliver your packages to the hotel gift shop for free. I loved their 24hr Pickabu's..a quick bite to eat after doing the parks late. I loved the great location...walking distance to Epcot/Boardwalk/MGM..or a quick boat ride. Try it you won't be sorry.:thumbsup2

We have stayed at the Dolphin and loved it and will definately return there!! The heavenly beds:cloud9: are wonderful - when we stayed there it was the best I've ever slept in a hotel room. We loved the location and the kids loved the pool. Transportation was great also!!

The only perks you do not get there are Magical Express, Dining plan and to be able to charge your purchases in the parks to your room key - no biggie for me as I just used my Disney Visa and paid it off when we got home.

I also an a fan of the Swan and the Dolphin. Before your stay sign up for the Starwood Preferred Guest Program and you will get points toward your next stay. They have some nice discounts if you are a teacher or nurse There are also AAA and Entertainment book discounts. Really after our 1st stay there we have not gone back to a Disney resort, we just feel like we get so much more for our money. Some people say they don't feel "Disney" enough but I like that they are more of a rest from the parks. If I can see either Epcot or MGM out my window then that is Disney enough for me!
