Swan/Dolphin vs Value???

I've read a few posts about a Teacher Discount PIN for resorts...Sway/Dolphin.

How does one get one? Obviously, I'm a teacher and would like to explore this option.

Thanks. :)

There's no PIN or code, S/D offer fantastic discounts to teachers, gov't employees & military. You jsut need to call & ask for those rates. I've seen them as low as $129/nt!

It was actually closer to the pool from our rooms in the Swan than our room at Dolphin lol!!! That was a LONG walk in the Dolphin!!

5 minutes from room in Swan to laundry, food etc., at Dolphin.

It's really a no-brainer for us. Larger rooms, way better beds, staying right in the middle of 2 parks, and great discounts make the Swan / Dolphin an easy choice. When I stayed several years ago, I was able to get the teacher discount online for $129 a night in late August! Couldn't beat that!! I think it may have been thru Dreams Unlimited travel. Just googled it.

I have stayed at both POP and the Swan. For 600$ more, I would splurge! Larger rooms, in-room Starbucks coffee. Within walking distance of 2 parks and a dizzying array of restaurants and lounges. Manicured lawns, fantastic pool area. For us it makes the trip much more leisurely and luxurious as opposed to POP.

We are staying at the Dolphin for the first time in Sept. We originally had a government rate but switched to the AAA rate of $127/night and a $50 credit if you stay for 6 nights. With tax and resort fee comes to $159/night. Got a 2nd room for $119/night ($149 with tax/resort fee). We are super excited about staying at the dolphin.

Unless you're set on the dining plan, I would definitely stay at Swan/Dolphin over pop. We have stayed at Pop once and both the Swan and Dolphin several times. Didn't really enjoy Pop..it was the first part of an otherwise DVC trip and it just isn't the same.

Location of S&D is beautiful. You have the boardwalk right there and you're a quick boat ride away from Epcot and DHS. They have many nice dining options and shops. I love the rooms and they're so much roomier than Pop's. Also, I love how the rooms at S&D are all in the same area as the lobby and such.

Do S/D either/both have rooms that accommodate 5 (2 adults, 3 kids)? Do guests get use of EMH?

TIA!

The standard rooms at the Dolphin accommodate two adults, three kids; the Swan's do not. Guests from both resorts can participate in EMH.

DH and I stayed at Dolphin in our "pre-kids" Disney trip...The beds? O...M...G. Heavenly doesn't begin to describe them. Planning a trip with our two DD in November/December and staying at the Swan. You CANNOT beat the location of these resorts, using the boat service is awesome. True, you can walk to Epcot, but its about the same amount of time to walk there (from Dolphin) as it was to ride the boat- we left when they were pulling out and arrived as they were docking (the boat stops at Y&B and Boardwalk on the way). The Boat to HS was very nice-- you can walk also, but its a hike and would take longer since you leave right from SD.
