going in mar. have ressies for asmovies, thinking of changing to swan or dolphin since dh is teacher..how hard is it 2 change ressies after deposit has been paid? does disney handle refunds w/out much hassle? also we booked 2 rooms 1 room all adults--is the discount good for both rooms as long as its in the teachers name?? thanks alot these boards have been really helpful. gave me the courage 2 book everything myself and save $$. looking 4 more ways 2 save.

We went in August on the teacher's discount and yes I booked 2 rooms in my name and received the $129 (plus tax) rate for each room. My sister paid for the second room and was able to leave her own credit card on her room for charges but the room keys both have our names on them. The other good news was that I got double starwood points since my name was on both reservations!

We cancelled our All Star Movies ressie 5 days before our trip last March and booked the Swan. I am so glad we did! We were paying $99.00 for the Movies and $129.00 at the Swan. There is just no way to compare the 2. Swan transportation is so nice and the pool is great. Everything about the Swan is deluxe. The coolest part was for my DH birthday we were given a special rate of $99. What a deal!! We also got points for the stay. When we booked our trip for Aug there was no question about where to stay, definitely the Swan.

We paid $179 teacher rate for a room in the wing with a balcony with the view of
boardwalk, MGM and EPCOT, and fireworks every night. Room #8025 :)

We are now booked for Easter 2003 - $159 teacher rate - for a 'water' view without
a balcony. We asked for a view of the pool.

The $129 teacher rate gives you a view of the parking lot :(
I like a better view than that in the morning.
I am not sure of the noise factor with a view of cars.

We found it the weather not to be on our side to use the balcony in June.
It was either too hot or too rainy and wet.

But my DH has great video's of the fireworks from the balcony.
My DS & DD were facinated by the fireworks from the window the
first few nights. By day 7 - they didn't care if they saw them.
We stayed 11 nights.

One reason we are going back to the Dolphin - is the POOL. :bounce:
My DS & DD loved the water falls and slide. We loved the size of it.

Plus we get a great teacher rate with my DH teaching at a college in our area.

I hope the Dolphin/Swan still gives a 20% DC discount on food in 2003.
That also saved us $$'s.

I hope the above helps.
enjoy ;)

We had the $129 teacher's rate and booked a standard room.I joined spg and e-mailed them a request for a room in the east wing on an upper floor with an Epcot veiw. Our $129 got us a great room on the 11th floor with a view of Epcot, MGM, and the Boardwalk.

You can get upto three rooms with the teacher/nurse or gov. rate. Disney will refund your money, but it may take one billing cycle.

You can not book the teacher rate through Disney..you have to call the Swan/Dolphin directly and ask for the rate.

Don't forget to bring identification..a paystub, ID..or certification.

Good luck and enjoy!!

thanks for the replys. this really helps. I'm booking the dolphin. my ds will love the pool.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
