Swan/Dolphin teacher rate UPDATED

I am trying to get the teacher rate at the Swan or Dolphin for 2 nights that we added to our DVC stay in June. I am being told that there are no teacher rate rooms available.
Should I just keep calling on Fridays when they update their systems and hope for the best? Is the rate still $129?
I was just told that I could get a king room for $209 ( no teacher rate). Would you hold out and hope for the better rate?
Any ideas or hints are appreciated!

When the the Swan & Dolphin reach 80% capacity all the discounts are pulled. I would keep tryong Friday's at about 10 am or so. The rate is still $129 a night. About the kingrooms, it is a regular room with a king bed and usually located at the ends of the wings. I would take that and keep trying for the discount, and canel if you get the other.

I had been told there wasn't any availability at the Dolphin or Swan, but I was able to obtain the discount through dreamsunlimitedtravel.com for the exact dates I wanted. I had been told by the Swan and Dolphin that they were sold out. Try there.

No you're not charged as long as you cancel within 5 days before check in. I think its 5 days could be 2

sorry type error...I fixed it!!

The same thing happened to me. Called Swan/Dolphin and was told the hotel was fully booked for the dates we wanted. Went into Dreams Unlimited website and booked the rooms with no problem. Funny though, went in first with teacher's discount which was only available for the first night of our stay and listed $195 for all the other nights. Same thing happened when I went in under Entertainment book discount. Went in list NO discount and got the room for $175 a night. Lowest rate was with NO discount! Dreams Unlimited was great in getting right back to me and confirming everything. They'll even make PS for your meals.

over a three month period last summer and fall, i was able to get all our nights at the Dolphin for the teacher's rate but you have to be persistent!!! I did call each Friday afternoon and was able to get 1 night per rate at a time - some weeks i had no luck but persistence did pay off. If you have the time, keep trying.

Last night when I was trying to book the teacher rate, S/D direct line was closed for the night. I was switched to the main booking office and told no teacher rate rooms were available.
Today I called the S/D direct and got the great teacher rate of $129! I guess it always pays to deal with Disney directly.

My wife is a teacher. How do we get the Teacher rate? What other resorts have the discount?

You can only get the discount at the Swan and Dolphin. It is 129.00+ taxes a night for a standard room. You can book directly with them or try dreamsunlimited.

We are going Aug. 17th - Aug.24th. I also could not get the discounted teacher's rate with the hotel itself. We booked two months ago though through Dreams Unlimited with no problems at all. As a matter of fact, we got two rooms. I can't wait for our first trip to the Dolphin!
