Swan/Dolphin Teacher Discount?

Anybody have any guesses if the teacher/government discounts will be offered this Spring? I was hoping to book a trip during our district's spring break, which begins April 18. Thanks!

reserve some spots for this discount but it all based on how busy they think they will be and if they have anything booked. I was told that they have a least a few at all times. I would just call and see what they have available.

Good idea, I made the call. Turns out tThere are a few discount days at the end of April, and none in the summer. Discounts have been released through 2006! The woman I talked to was very nice, and said both the Dolphin and Swan expected to be running at good capacity through 2006. Good for them, bad for me!

Congrats! We go the Nurse discount last spring and it was wonderful, in fact we asked and received an upgrade upon check-in. so don't be shy. I think, as already discussed, they offer the discount when they don't expect to be crowded so a chance for an upgrade is pretty good. Ended up with a room at the end of one of the wings that had a balcony and a view of the Boardwalk. I'm sure by now all of the rooms have been remodeled but if not be sure to ask for a new room...Heavenly Beds......Goodluck!

I was lucky enough to get Swan last 12/28-1/02/04 for teachers discount $149/night. We are dvc members and are staying at BCV 12/26-12/31/04 this year and needed one night 12/25/04 and got Dolphin for $159 through SPG website and internet special rate, but you must pre-pay when you book online. If you are sure of your dates, and don't mind the upfront payment, it comparable to teacher's discount.

It seems from previous posts that people are having difficulty getting the discount for the duration of their stay. I'm wondering if this isn't a plan by Swan/Dolphin to get you booked for a few nights at the teacher's discount and then the rest at rack rate. I could only get 2 nights out of 5 for our end of January stay at the discount. We will stay at the Boardwalk instead with an AP discount. The Swan/Dolphin is great but the rooms are not worth the rack rate.
