Swan/Dolphin Starwood special

I have gotten so much great vacation planning help from these boards - I wanted to share what we discovered last night. We just booked 6 nights at the Swan for March. We were hoping to stay on CL this time as we spent so much on breakfast our last stay without CL. We had enough Starwood points for 4 of the nights and wanted to know if we could either book nights at CL with points or pay and upgrade with points. Called the Starwood number to ask - no CL rooms available for points, but, they are running a special right now in which you "buy" 4 nights in resort view room with points (40,000 points) and they give you a 5th night free. We said yes, yes, yes. We won't be on CL - but seeing as we're only paying for one of our 6 nights - we can spend quite a lot on food and still come out ahead.
