Swan Dolphin room upgrade examples

What room types have you been upgraded to with the Preferred Guest card? If you start with the cheapest room, have you ever gotten a resort view, or balcony, or suite?

No upgrades were available when we checked in on February 17 at the Swan since they were full with a large convention even though they had my preferred card on file. Our room was in the West Wing with a view of the pool and a balcony. The view was okay but the room felt smaller than our room last year at CBR. We liked CBR better although the pool was awesome at the Swan. Our bathroom had minor mold on the ceiling at the Swan and we missed the table at CBR and 2 sinks outside the bathroom. My kids also missed the animal towels and food court. Sorry if I'm off topic but we were not thrilled with the Swan as compared to Disney owned resorts.

We just got back from our first-ever stay at the Dolphin and we had a great time. The location of this resort can't be beat!!! We joined the Starwood program shortly before going, and upon arrival we were upgraded to a Resort View room. We hadn't asked for an upgrade at check-in, we only realized we had been upgraded when we walked into our room and saw the view from our window! Although we were on a lower floor (second, to be exact) we could still see the Epcot fireworks, and it was so neat to sit at our porthole window and watch the Friendship boats pass under the bridges leading to the Boardwalk and Y&B. Sure beat looking at a parking lot!

Oh, forgot to mention that we were there with the $129/night teacher rate....not a bad deal, huh?!

The first time I stayed at the Swan I was there on a $68 dollar a night Priceline bid. We were upgraded to a resort veiw(with our card) and could see the Dolphin in front of us,the launch area and some of the Yacht club to the right. We loved out room and and the resorts so much it is where we have stayed the last 4 times.
