Can anyone explain to me the difference between a lake view and a resort view to me? I think I would like a view of the lake/YC/BC/BW/Epcot. Thinking about possibly staying at the Swan or Dolphin next time (atleast until I can get a good rate at the Yacht Club).

This is from Glo's FAQ :

View info/ Balcony info
Lake View rooms are mostly between the "fingers" of the building, with view of Crescent lake area, but a limited view due to the building. The Resort view rooms are more of a "wide open" view, with the possibility of view of the white sandy beach area, pools, or even Epcot. Standard rooms we describe as "non designated view", and most are on the wooded side or parking lot areas. The Swan "standard views" tend to have a bit better view (MGM ,TOT)than the Dolphin due to location. Front of either hotel is "Standard" views. Hope this helps people a little more!

Balcony rooms tend to be on the fingers or wings of each resort and in rooms facing the other resort. Balconies have two chairs and a small table. Balcony rooms 3rd floor and below tend to have balcony rooms right next to each other. Rooms over the 3rd floor alternate room with a balcony and room w/o.

Hope this helps! :)

Here's the view from our balcony at the Swan, I would imagine this is what a "lake view" would be. We overlooked part of Crescent Lake, and as you can see, the sandy beach area near the Grotto Pool.

Here's our "resort view" (I called it Epcot view!) from our balcony at the Dolphin where we watched the fireworks nightly from Epcot's Illuminations;

Killer Photos, too!!;) My FAV is the unobstructed EPCOT view! Ah, to watch illuminations from your suite/room/balcony is indescribable. Go for the EPCOT view, Cali...you'll LOVE it. You can also see the LAKE, YC & BC, and BW! :D

Isn't that a Picture of my Mahogany CC..."BREATHLESS" in the photo of the YC?!? LOL...I left her docked there, and they offer escorted rides around the lake in her during my absence. I'll be taking her around the lake "daily" upon my return to the Dolphin in a couple of weeks...(hehe). She's in beautiful shape...and quite a powerful MERC engine too!:p ;)
