Swan? Dolphin Questions

Have a really good friend playing a trip to Disney World. She is really interested in staying at the Swan or Dolphin. SO any information on either resort would be great. Can she use the dinning plan if staying there and can she use her military discount on her room is she adds the dinning plan? Also does any one have any pictures of the resort that they can share? One more question how is the Disney feel there and do you get the same perks as Disney Resort guest????? Thanks

No one can get the DDP at the S/D. Since they are not Disney owned resorts they can't get the dining plan or DME services. But, even though there are no Disney touches, they are both great resorts. There are shops in each where you can buy Disney stuff. The Swan has a character breakfast, at least they did the last time I checked.
The pool area is very nice...one of the nicer ones in WDW.
As far as other Disney perks go....the S/D are both participants in the EMH days, you can have stuff you buy in the parks shipped back to the resort, you can take WDW buses to and from the parks.
You can't charge things back to your room though...only things purchased at the S/D can be charged to the room.

My wife and I love the Swan and Dolphin! the location gives VERY easy access to EPCOT and MGM (By A/C boat), the rooms are big, and the discounts can be deep (We are going in August for $125 a night). You can get almost all the perks of staying in a WDW owned resort, but I do not think you can get the dinning plan. You can not charge on your room key (except at the Swan and Dolphin), you can not combine your room key and ticket, and you can not ship packages back to your room. You do get EMH and all transportation.
