Swan/Dolphin nurse/teacher rate?

Do you just ask for the "nurse" rate when you call? I just think it sounds funny! Do they know what you are talking about when you ask or do you end up telling them how you heard about the discount,etc? I have always used a govt rate and I simply always say "Do you have any govt rates available?" but I was wondering how you go about asking for the nurses discount and what the response has been.

Yes, just ask for the nurse's discount rate. If it is available they will give it to you. I had no problem with them knowing what it was. Howver, it is not always available. If it is not, ask for the AAA rate. If you are not a AAA member it is well worth joining for the discount. You don't need proof of membership until check-in. I was not able to get the nurse's rate for most of my stay but got the AAA rate, 169.50, for 5 nights and then the nurse's rate for the last 2 nights. All you have to do is ask.

FYI, I answered my own question! I called reservations and simply asked if they'd heard of the nurses rate and she quickly answered yes and said it was the same as the govt rate.

I also asked about rollaways at the Swan, since I think I read once that they don't allow rollaways at the Swan. SHe said rollaways are available at both resorts. I know we had one at the Dolphin and it great. We could even flip it up against the wall very easily during the day to have more room.

Just wanted to post in case anyone had the same question!

WOW! I will have to try this out as I am a nurse, but never new they offered a nurse rate. What do you have to show them?

As far as I know, just an ID from the hospital or maybe your nursing license, or a paystub. To be honest, even with the govt rate, I have never been asked to show anything the 2 times we stayed. But, if requested you need to show somehow that you are a nurse. I was planning on taking my hospital ID.

they ask for your nursing lic. have fun. i have used that rate a cpl times. was harder this yr. they just released some more dates for april.
