Just back from a 4 night stay at the Swan. Besides not being able to get into our room until around 5 pm(and yes I know not everyone can get a room right at 4), we had one small issue.
We had these tiny bugs on our dresser top in the room. I didn't even notice them right away. My sister did, and started swatting at them. Unfortunately I had to throw out a couple of caramel goodies I had purchased in Epcot because of them.

Anyone run into these bugs before or know what they were? They kind of hopped around and were super small. We did make sure to have housekeeping clean our room the next day and they did clean up that countertop.

Hopping around sounds like it could be fleas…

😳. I would have reported it & had them care of immediately, maybe asked for a different room. A few years go I noticed a steady stream of tiny ants in our CL room at YC. It was after the CL staff was gone, so I went directly to the front desk. It was taken very seriously. The pest control person had to be called to rule out bed bugs, he determined they were Argentinian ants & treated for them immediately. We were told it would be ok to stay in the room or we could move if we wanted. We chose to move. Paying to stay in an infested room of any kind is not something I am willing to do.

We stayed at Riverside earlier this year and the room was infested with roaches. Not the large cockroaches, but the little ones that people refer to as German roaches. Grossed me out so bad! When I complained to the front desk, they sent over a person to spray the room right away but I still can't bring myself to book another room there.

In ‘21 when I had an issue with tiny ants at Swan I requested a new room and they obliged. Not like a couple ants, it is Florida after all so that would be nbd, but like a couple dozen once we realized what we were looking for. (Actually needed a new room twice because the second room was directly above and ended up with tiny ants as well- then I finally realized they were coming from the walls around the electrical sockets.) I have not heard of anyone having bug issues there since.

No way would I knowingly stay in a room infested with anything- even if Swan wouldn’t have moved me I’d have gotten a hotel elsewhere. I do not wait around for them to treat the room, nope! I insist on moving immediately. (Had this happen at a couple hotels over the years.)
