Swan and club level

I was lucky enough to get the teacher rate at the Swan for our February trip. I just joined Starwood and received 250 pts. for joining. Does anyone have advice on how to get to the club level without having to pay extra, now that I am a preferred member?

If it is Feb vacation you would need lots of luck. If you really want club service only way to get it is to pay for it. If you have the regular room no view, you might get a one step upgrade, but that would be Lake view, not all the way to club. You can ask at check in, but Feb vacation is pretty busy. Good luck.

and welcome to this site!!! It is great! I am A SPG Gold member, and I have stayed at 3 Starwood hotels since becoming "gold", not Swan/ Dolphin, but in other states. We have NEVER goten a free upgrade. We are told at check in thet the hotel is full, and an upgrade is not available. I was so excited to finally be a "gold" SPG member, and it has gotten me ZILCH!!! Good luck....it is certainly worth trying for at check in!!!
