Swag and Merch at VGC/DCA

We just completed a mini getaway at VGC! The new merch is out in full swing!

Unfortunately, the new DVC Magicband wasn't there. I was hoping to snag it with my discount, since I missed the boat on the prearrival price, but it hasn't hit yet! Im glad i found an ornament I actually liked and a cute luggage tag!

Over on the swag side, they have the zip up bags still. I actually dont have this one so I was happy to grab it. It had the usual buttons, stickers, and an envelope filled with postcards, and lanyards inside.

My greatest score was over at the Golden Vine Winery inside of DCA. I went to go to the member update and found out it wasn't happening. I expressed my frustrations because the resort's activity guide stated that there was a member update on Wednesdays at 3pm, so we went to attend.

Turns out, that is incorrect and the Member Update is on Sundays and Fridays at 3pm. Our interest in that was for the Stitch and Tinkerbell swag they offer. Since we couldn't do it and get that swag because our stay was a short one, they gave us two DVC pins. My first time getting a pin as swag

I gladly accepted the consolation prize and I will be attaching it to my WDW member update shoulder bag!

I have that one, my DD gave it to me after one of her trips. She loves the Disney cruises and DVC stuff was given to her as she's also a member. They came home with 3 or 4 of them.

My current favorite bit of swag is a zip around insulated lunch bag handed to me by a Hilton Head employee as they were leaving an employee meeting of some kind. It was filled with some other swag also and obviously meant for cast members, but I love to use the lunchbox.

One time while staying at Beach Club Villas, which is one of my home resorts, they had some kind of event downstairs where we were all gathered in a bunch (I hesitate to say circle as it was pretty crowded). They were asking questions and quickest one with the answer got DVC swag. We got quite a few more unique items.

DD who was maybe 8 or 9 was the kid who knew the answer to 'What is Donald's middle name?" She quickly called out 'Fauntleroy'.

She got a silver colored DVC watch for knowing that. Of course everybody wanted to know how she knew that, including me.

Turns out, McDonalds had started a series of glass Disney drinking glasses around 2000, and we had a small collection. One of the round ones featured Donald and his middle name.

That day we brought home pins, keychains, a nice pen, wine stoppers, basically some of the stuff you'd see for sale in the shops. The watch is in pristine condition as it has never been worn. I've never attended a giveaway that nice since.

Ah the good ol' days. I wasnt around for that but I do have those McDonald's cups still to this day and of course theyve never released quality cups like that again!

My wife is a huge Donald Duck fan and I just asked her what his middle name was and she did not know he had a middle name Learned something new!

One of my employees at the time knew I liked the cups. He kept bringing them. I have maybe two dozen somewhere, both round and square. Of course he had bypass from all the McDonald's food, not kidding.
