Obviously I don't get out much <LOL> Flying Southwest (ticketless travel). What else do I need? Do I print the "security document" from the site the day of flight? Then what... What do I need to do at the airport? I have the printed receipt from the ticket purchase....

BTW, I'm planning to arrive 2 hours before flight, but have 3 small kids so will be able to preboard. Is 2 hours enough time?

Thank you!

All you need to bring along is:

Photo IDs for the adults travelling (I brought a birth certificate for DS age 5 last year, but the folks at SWA did not need to see it)

Your email itinerary, or reciept from your purchase.

Have a great flight, and yes, I think 2 hours will be MORE than enough time for you to get in the first boarding group.

Jess,
You only need the security document IF you are not checking luggage. You will need a boarding pass, which you can get at the counter, check in gate, or sky cap (my personal favorite as they take care of your bags for you and it is well worth the tip). I usually bring the copy of the reservation (printed off the computer). You will need your photo id for you and your DH.

Be aware, if the flight is full of small children you may not be able to preboard. Two hours is plenty of time. Children need to be 4 and under to preboard (of couse if you have one under 4 and older ones, they can preboard also).

In reality, a lot of this information is on the SWA site, under travel center, but, we are always happy to help right here.

I just booked flight to Orlando on SW. We are not checking luggage. They told me we could go right to the kiosk in the airport and swipe the credit card we used to book flight and get our boarding passes right there. You must have a boarding pass or security document to get through the gate. You used to be able to get through the gate with an itinerary and then get a boarding pass at check in at the gate. NO MORE.

I normally just show up with an ID. (I Never have a print out of the ticket info) and I never have a problem.

I figure printing the thing out elimiates the entire purpose of Electronic tickets.

Yep, it does, but, I tend to carry a copy of EVERYTHING when I go.
For me, it makes it easier and for a time, you had to bring a printout of the reservation, glad it has changed in case I forget something.
