What an awesome deal. Is this a ding fare?

My friends from Niagara that are going cruising with us next year are already asking about flights out of Buffalo for 7/06. I mean, they haven't even opened up *Scheduled* airline timetables that far out yet. I guess they're excited about going, or extremely anal. Of course, the latter is quite possible since one of them is an accountant.

I got so excited , I thought SWA was booking December. On the SWA seat sale ressie area (not on the regular SWA site, just the link from the email sent this morning) , Nov/Dec shows up but when you enter Dec dates, the system says they are not accepting these dates yet.
Is this just me, can someone else check this and confirm that they are not accepting past Oct 28?

It's a seat sale not a Ding. They are not accepting ressies beyond Oct.28.

Yep i had already booked that flight, and just got a credit for $544, not bad, .. called customer service and got them to refund the money to my credit card. Gives me $675 Cdn back, thats amazing. woohoo

did you lose much on the different exchange rates....

they apply different rates .... one for buying and one for credits ( which of course is lower )

on a side note,

when are you going,

our trip is september 17 - 24 great airfare now 115$, 200$ rate for 2 bedroom condo HGVC at International Drive for 7 nights and 100$ national for full size

crossing fingers we miss the "hurricane" bullet

Hey lawgs, we are from St catharines, and are going august25 to sept1
Staying at the Royal Pacific universal studios for 3 nights, then The boardwalk villas until we leave. We normally go this time of year, since our girls are in High school. Didnt lose too much, but flights were originally just over $1000 for four, new price just over $400, even with differences in exchange rates, we are way ahead. Hope you have a wonderful holiday, im already counting the days

So are you telling me if I book my dates now Oct 3 - Oct 11 and another seat sale comes out for Oct at $49 I will get a refund??????? Why doesn't everyone do this? I'm confused, sorry (easily done ). Did you make 2 calls ? One to get the credit (who did you call) and one to customer service to get the credit turned into a refund on your credit card?

Yes first i called the toll free number, and the fellow there told me where to look on their website to get a credit for the difference in flight costs. Problem was it expires in a year, and we wont be travelling again during that time. So, i asked him, will they give a refund, even though it does state, no refunds. He gave me the customer relations number, which is also on their website btw. I called there, lady checked to see the credit was in my account, then said sure they will refund it to my credit card. Ihave heard in the past that they won't do this, i don't know if i just got lucky or what. Mind you a number of people on the transportation boards have also gotten refunds. I say, it never hurts to try

I have been waiting and waiting for this sale and I panicked a week and a half ago because we had to pay off our vacation (Aug 21-30 at POFR including the free dining!!!) with Dreams Unlimited on July 7 and I wanted to make sure we had our air fare booked. The best price I could find was an $86 Ding but out of Detroit ($807 US total for the 4 of us)...now I am going crazy because Buffalo was is so much closer (though the flight times are better..booking out of Buffalo meant losing a day with a 7pm flight). Buffalo also has much better Park and Fly deals with the hotels.

Though I guess there is a bright side since the price out of Detroit also dropped to $59 ($595 US total for 4) so I rebooked and have $212 credit.

I'm not sure I understand. Why don't you cancel and rebook going out of Buffao now?

it probably has to do with the flight time she would have to take out of buffalo......7 pm instead of 7 am

they have two daily NS out of buffalo, one in the monring one in the evening

When I called SW they said I couldn't cancel because my original flight was non refundable. The best they said they could do was for me to change my booking (bascially rebook) and receive a credit for the difference. They said they only way I could receive this was I had to book the exact same itinerary (including flight times). Initially the first agent said I could cancel but then a supervisor said no. Anyway I am O.k. with the credit , at least we can do another trip sometime.
