I have never used SWA before. I have avoided them because of their boarding policy, but now I see that the airfares are coming in really cheap. I have some questions I was hoping to get help with....

Can I book now and make changes to a reservation without penalty?
Can these changes be made when specials come out like the "Ding" or "click and save" and applied to my reservations?
Can I really book a flight that might be over 200.00 and possibly find a click and save special like the one now that is 59.00 each way to apply?

My dates are August 5th to 13th. Any suggestions or advice as to what to do. Thanks for all the help.

You can usually change your reservations, both time and date with little or no change fee. I've been playing around with mine for about a week now. If a cheaper fare comes out you basically "re-purchase" it... but first cancel your existing ressie and apply the funds from it to the new ones. Their policy states that any credit can be saved for up to a year, and is transferable. Some people report having written to SWA to get a refund on their credit card though... for the difference.

Yes, you can book now and if a lower fare comes out, you can cancel your reservation and rebook applying the credit from the cancelled reservation (keep the original confirmation, you will need this to appy the funds from your cancelled fare).
There is NEVER a penalty for change or cancellation. The only time additional money would be charged is if your plans changed and you had to change the flights and the fare was more, then you would pay the difference.
If the fare goes down and you have a credit, you will have to complete travel within one year of the original purchase. (IE: you purchase today and a lower fare comes out on April 15th, you would have a credit that had to be completed by March 17,2006).
Advice: sign up for the weekly email from SWA (you can do this on the website) and download DING, also done from the website.
Hint: If you do book now and a lower airfare comes out and you can keep the same flights on the same days, call the Customer Relations dept (number is on the website), not RESERVATIONS, and they will probably refund the difference to your credit card.

We are flying SWA from Chicago on the 28th of this month. We have never flown with them because I don't like not haveing seat assignments. We have flown with AtA,or Ted for United, and since Ted doesn't have low enough fares and AtA pulled out of Chicago, we have little choice.
Reluctantly we booked SWA after talking with the agents and finding out that you can get your boarding passes ahead of time on-line. After mid-night the the day of flight you can go on-line and access boarding passes. I was told that if you do this you will most likely get 'A' passes & all 4 be able to sit where ever you want.
The only problem we will have is accessing passes on-line the day we come back. We will be staying at POR, and have not found outhow to access them from the resort.

the front desk will get them for you. just go with your confirmations to the front desk and they will handle it from there.

I have been flying with S.W.A for 11 years with no problems.
In 2001 I had already paid for our tickets to WDW.
9/11 happened :sad2: the airfares dropped.
I called, made a trip to the ticket counter @ airport.
They filled up some papers.
I had a refund check for the difference in 10 days. :Pinkbounc
I just love the prices, & the service. :love1:
Right now I'm waiting for them to release my trip dates. :hourglass
