Hi, Did anyone else BOOK today when the dates opened up?? I was able to get the flight HOME I wanted Monday night(Feb.22nd) 7pm for $129.00 but the flight down I wanted was Friday night and that was $302. so I got Friday morning with a stop (not happy with this flght since my DS will have to miss a day of school :headache:) and that was $161.00. So for around $300. each(there are 4 of us) we will ESCAPE the COLD. The only other option for me was to book $302. each way with a total of $604. per person. I DID expect BETTER fares from SWA for PVD,seeing as BOSTON is now flying to MCO and their fares were CHEAPER.:sad2: But we are about an hour from LOGAN Airport and you NEVER know what the weather will be like in February in NE!!So that is my STORY :) anybody else care to share theirs?? Joan

Hi Joan,

Looks like you at least got reasonably priced flights. I was lucky too, but we are flying out of Manchester. I am in Central MA, so any airport is pretty much the same distance.

I tried booking out of PVD, but when I went to enter the payment button it told me no seats were available. Then when I re-entered it, the flight jumped from $121 to $204! So I quickly checked Manchester and Hartford and was able to grab $99 each way nonstop so I'm thrilled.

Kids will miss a few days of school, but they do every year. Hasn't been a problem yet. And I NEED to escape the cold for a little while.

Very excited now. Where are you staying? I think we'll be at Bonnet Creek again.

Hi Heather, We will be at the BCV for 2/14-22. I have not booked anything yet for the 12th and 13th. We own at BCV and I booked the stay on points.I REALLY do not want to use points for ANOTHER weekend. I KNOW what you mean about the COLD!! I would be SEVERLY depressed after Christmas IF I did not have a warmer destination to escape to!! What dates did you end up with and do you like Bonnet Creek?? (I have read GOOD reviews on it:thumbsup2) Joan

Joan,

Our dates are the 9th to the 19th. Wanted to come on Saturday, but way too much money to justify.

We do love Bonnet Creek and have stayed there a couple of times including last Feb.. The location can't be beat and resort itself is beautiful as well as the units. We are a family of five, so we enjoy the extra bedrooms. But you lucky devil you owning at BCV. Beautiful!!!

I'm sad that summer is over, but now am looking forward to this trip!!

Best to you!!

I also looked at the PVD/BOS/MHT/BLD to MCO/TPA options and was surprised that most were well over $300 with fees added in. It seems like the outbound flights are the higher ones and the return flights not so bad.

I did like we do every year and said "Disneyland here we come!!" instead of paying high Florida airfares. We got JB BOS to LGB for $335 roundtrip average (which includes $50 for legroom seats for me) and were able to use our DVC points at the new Villas at the Grand Californian resort. One other bonus is ticket prices are cheaper at Disneyland too. We were just at Disneyworld last week, so going to California is a fun option for us to still do Disney and try something different.

Do you own at GCV or were you able to book at 7 months?

I'm wondering exactly how many of the Web fares SWA had available for PVD to MCO that Feb vacation week and just before. At 10am I kept checking the site (ignoring the through Jan 8th posting in case they forgot to change that). After checking about every 5 minutes, by the time I saw the dates open (it was after 11am before the dates were turned on) all web fares were sold out for Jan 12th going down. :headache:

I pushed our dates up to Feb 10th and snagged $79 - the catches are: it's a 6:15am on & we have only 35 min to transfer in BWI. Providing we make that plane, I doubt our checked luggage will *sigh* - I've had too many issues at that airport. DD is in HS and I worry about her missed school days too. We need the mid-winter pick me up so bad, so no real choices except to work it out with her teachers.
