They are very unaccomidating. They can kick you off a flight for any reason. This show paints them in a bad picture. They are also very rude. Because of this show I would never use them.

And I hear the pilots marry werido's

If you have never used SWA, then you really can't judge them. We always use SWA and have never had any problem. We are a family of 4 and always get seats together, and have never been kicked off a flight, nor have we seen this done to others. They do overbook, as do all airlines, but they take volunteers first and then those that have arrived late to checkin. We have volunteered to give up our seats and received nice compensation- hotel for night, dinner voucher, and each time have gotten $1200 in future flight money.

Hmmm....I watched all of season one and I never saw them portrayed negatively. In fact, watching the show made me want to fly them more often. If there are new shows on now, I haven't seen them, so I can't comment on those.

I think it's more along the lines of "these are our rules, if you don't ilke them, we don't need you".

It seems like they have more than enough passengers so that they can't and don't make "accomidations" for other people's problems. Anything I've seen on that show that was their problem, they took care of. Anything that wasn't, they try to do something, but it doesn't surprise me that they can't keep people happy with the tight schedule and limited flights they have.

FYI-I just heard today SW is cutting flights and moving planes to more profitiable routes they already run. It shoudl make the show even more interesting.

If you call making a family of 6 wait for the next flight because they checked in 10 minutes before the full flight was supposed to leave unaccommodating, then I agree.

Or, if you call asking the guy who can barely open his eyes because he spent the last hour (at 7:00am) in the bar to sober up unaccommodating, I also agree.

We also watch this show. We have flown a few different airlines. We now fly Southwest exclusively. There is no better airline when it comes to customer service.

Could you be more specific with an example of what you saw that made you feel this way? I'd hate for you to generalize and miss out on flying an airline that has their stuff together.

(or is this intended to start an argument?)

I love Airline (and Airline UK). SWA doesn't kick people off a flight for "any" reason. There's usually a very valid reason -- being drunk & disorderly, being rude & obnoxious to SWA staff (like the loudmouth who kept screaming "What weather?" when his flight was delayed by weather in another city), etc.

Like others, I've seen them bend over backwards at times to accommodate people who lost tickets, were late checking in, needed to make changes, were bumped from other airlines, etc. The customer service skills of the staff are amazing ... I wonder how they maintain their calm and reason with some of the people who show up at their counters.

The only reason I don't fly SWA is they don't offer assigned seating. Otherwise, I'd fly them in a heartbeat. Their reputation is that of one of the most accommodating, customer-friendly airlines in the business today.

Is this because of the 3 potential employees on last nights show? If you work for an airline and are flying free that kind of thing is going to happen. It's unfortunate and maybe they didn't understand this but I don't think SW was rude about it. As far as other incidents I think they've bent over backwards to help people. The fact that they won't let unruly or intoxicated people fly is very much appreciated by those of us that don't behave like that.

I recently have started watching this show and I love it. I find SWA to be a wonderful airline, who always is willing to help whenever possible. I know that when I need to fly to Philly from either Orlando or Tampa, I will use them. Much cheaper, and seems like a great airline

Believe me, SWA is more than accommodating with the crap they have to deal with. I can't believe how people act and treat the ticket and gate agents. I wonder how these people feel once they see themselves on camera.

Not exactly sure what you mean by unaccomodating. The people that were kicked off the flight last night, the three ladies, were non-revving. This is when you travel on a space available seat basis for little to no cost. My dad was a pilot and we used to non-rev all the time. What the gate agent was saying in that situation was 100% accurate.

When you are non-reving, you have no rights because you have paid nothing to travel. You must be gracious and if they tell you to get off the plane, you must do it with a smile. My family and I were asked to get off a plane a couple of times after we had boarded, sat back and buckled up. It is just part of travelling as an employee. One year coming back from Orlando with my dad and brother we got passed over for every flight and sat in the airport all day. The last flight left, without us and we were stuck. We ended up having to rent out the hospitality suite at the Airport Marriott since there were no other rooms available. Part of being in the airline businsess. The upside, except on Southwest, is if there are seats available in First class you can go up there and get the full service.

We love the show... and the airline...

I do wish that reservations with more than one person could be checked in online so we would have a shot at "A" boarding, but DH and I stood in line about 30 minutes before departure in the "C" waiting que and we sat together.... and this October when our whole family goes, we will get to preboard because of the kids....

I love watching the show.....

After seeing what the agents put up with, I know I could never do that kind of job.

I just wish SWA would come into our market. I would love to get the deals some of you get.

I love this show. Did anyone else see last night, the Nigerian lady who tried to check a bag full of maggot-infested smoked catfish? It was vomit, vomit, vomit. The things those employees put up with, oh my gosh.

This is an easy one to solve. What we do is book a separate reservation for each person, and then we go online to check in. It works out great...each person gets an "A" boarding pass this way.

Ahhhh but when booking for a family of 5 or more the rate could go up from the first ticket to the last..... But like I mentioned, for now, when we travel with the kids we get preboarding...

Must admit, I would love for my kids to have to sit with someone else for the flight.... ::yes::

Oh, last night was a doozy between that woman, the one with the chickens in the cooler (won't eat frozen chicken because it's soaked in bleach  ), and the one with the dog that wanted to carry it on like a baby (I couldn't believe she was sobbing because they wouldn't let her). I thought the woman with the fish was just going to pick up the maggot and eat it - yum, yum extra protein :crazy2: . It didn't seem to faze her in the least.

I haven't watched the show recently, but I've always been impressed with the way they handle things. It seems to me they go above and beyond. I can't fly them because of the peanuts, but I would otherwise.

I have slown SWA years ago. and I was able to bring my kitten on board at the time. They were mean to the dog lady The lack customer Service. The guy drunk ok they left him off good but did you see the ticket guy not checking the people letting anyone on while arguing with the drunk. They pretty much call people liars but not using the word liars.
