I booked my outgoing flights for June 9 and I am now waiting for my return flights for the 21. Is anyone else waiting? :cool1:

I'm going in April and I did not even think about buying one way now and the other way later. I was waiting until I had the full amount (5 people flying so gets expensive) and to see if any would go on sale. I really want the non-stop (and there is only one that is nonstop) so I might just go ahead and book the way there now. Thanks for the idea. Makes the cost seem less too when you break it up like that. lol

I'm looking for June 30. Do you know if they release the dates at a certain time of day?

I just look everyday. I have to book for 8 people in March and 5 in June. So I watch to see if my March dates become discounted so I can hopefully apply the credit to my return trip in June. I can come back anytime between June 20 and 22 so I am hoping to catch a good deal! :sunny:

I'm looking for July 2-13. I hope to get at least my departure date on the next update. I'm thinking mid-February. ???

There's 7 of us going June 11th, so don't ya know, Southwest only released until June 10th! (They did the same thing to us for our March trip, release until March 31, and I needed April 1st to come home). I'm still trying to figure out our flights for March, (I REALLY don't like the prices I'm seeing). I better to something quick, before there's NOTHING left! :wave2:

Yep, I'm watching, too, for the second half of June. Anybody know when SW typically posts its fares for this time period?

Jan 13/04 - open to Jun 11/04
Feb 13/04 - open to Aug 7/04

Dec 9/04 - open to Jun 6/05
Feb 18/05 - open to Aug 3/05

and here is some data based on those dates:
2004 data- whenever the open schedule drops down to to the 112-135 range , the schedule is then extended to be in the 150-177 range.

Have you been keeping a log or is there somewhere on the web that has all this data??? I would love the full year schedule of release dates if you have it...

and do you mean rates on the older flights go down right beofre the schedule is opened up??? Thanks again!

I was thinking he meant number of days open for ticketing, not price, but you could be right.

Hey, jimmiej, what cruise are you going on? We'll be on the July 2 4-day.

DW & I will be on the July 9th Wonder-a week after you. We're spending a week at BCV prior to our cruise. We'll be celebrating our 25th anniversary. We picked this particular cruise date because we'll be on Castaway Cay on the exact day of our anniversary. Lucky planning, huh?

They have started to open up some lower fares in March now. Also have a $79 special on June 9 now. I was able to reduce my flights in March by 180$ and my flights in June by 25$. So now I have 200$ in credits for my return trip in June when it opens up.

Hi all! New here! We're going to Disney for April 7th-16th. It will be my kids and my hubbies first time!

I'm looking at Southwest fares, but not finding what we'd like, currently they are about 170 per person per way. Sue, from your post, it sounds like you've exchanged previous tickets? Is that possible? I figured they would be non-refundable?

I'm afraid to wait for better fares, especially since we're going around spring break time! Should I wait, or book the best I can find now??

I also found a package deal that would give southwest tickets plus a minivan for the entire time, for only 172 more, or only $19 per day. Might just jump on it!

They are nonrefundable for cash, though some people have been able to adjust their credit cards, but they will cancel and change any reservation and give you the credit to use on another trip.

I am planning two trips in 2006, March and June. I always use SW. I grabbed the first reasonable fares I could find knowing I would try to reduce them to help pay for my second trip.

The first one, March, I booked 4 people at $125 each way. One leg of the trip was reduced to $79. The hitch was only one $79 ticket became available each day. So I called each day, removed one person and made a new reservation getting a credit of $45 per person for a total of $180. Then I had made reservation for 5 at $84 in June. That went down to $79, so I cancelled, got the credit and rebooked at the $79 rate and got a credit of $25.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sue!

So, I'm guessing you couldn't reserve one trip, wait for a better price, cancel that trip, then use the credit to re-reserve the same trip at the better price? Does the credit have to be used for a future trip?

Thanks!
