I know, I'm spoiled. We have flown SWA from BDL for as low as $75 (RT!!!!) to as high as $250 (It would be higher, but we've had RR tickets to cover some more expensive times) Anyway, my point is that I watch SW ALL the time, and fly 2-3 times a year and feel like I have a pretty good handle on rates and specials at different times of the year. That's why I'm in almost shock over having to pay $200 for a RT ticket flying midweek in November.
Since the November dates have been opened I have watched the fares and the dings. They had $59 sales for September and October. I've seen nothing for November. The Dings I got were $84 or $89 instead of $109 - a savings, but not as low as I'd like. We're actually flying home from TPA because I could get TPA-BDL for $39 - cheapest for MCO was $89 times 3 people; that's some nice savings. So anyone else thing the BDL market must be getting a little tighter these days?

We are also flying out of BDL on SW. We decided to fly in/out of Tampa as it was cheaper ($538/5 RT tickets with a Ding). Plus, we are visiting with my mom for a couple nights who lives near Tampa. This is the first time we are trying this...if it works out, we may do this more often in the future.

It does appear to be tightening up -i missed a DING the other night because i was not fast enough in responding - this was for next weekend. Bradley is never accessible around holiday periods and that is when my vacation always is!! A few more yrs til retirement, and then I won't be strapped to certain vacation times, (President's week, spring vacation etc...).

I'm in the same boat. I got a Ding! the other night for $85 each way (hardly a deal). I did see a Ding! for $45 each way out of Providence if that's an option.

Best I can tell, Delta cut the amount of flights out of BDL thus driving down capacity and price up and Southwest's prices are inflated as well (lots of demand). The good old days of Bradley may be in the past :(

This probably really has some merit. I didn't think about that. Maybe if the market's tighter we'll get another discount carrier to offer some competition. At $150 or less RT I can afford three trips a year, if it's $200, we may not go as frequently. I'm thinking next year I'll make my f&W reservations for Oct.

I still love SWA though

That was probably the same one I grabbed for our trip home. I figured it was a good backup and now it's the only plan. I didn't book going down on that because I felt for sure, we'd at least get a $59 or $69 IOW. Now I have to devise a whole new stategy!

I'd have grabbed $89. I've looking at a BDL -> MCO flight in December and seeing nothing less than $145.

We have received some lucky DING's for our 11/30-12/11 trip...However, we choose to fly out of PVD...95 easier for us in CT than Rtes. 2 and 91 to BDL...Anyhow, we started off at $880 with SWA for 5/RT...We have scaled that down to $625 for 5/RT with the two DING's we received in the last couple of days...PVD is a great alternative to any of you who wish to look elsewhere for possible better prices...Good luck!

I saw the $49 Ding for PVD but opted to bite the bullet and go for BDL. I've never been to PVD and it would have been tight for me to make the flight and so figured it;d be better to pay extra and go to BDL.

I don't think we'll see to many low fares out of BDL for a while at least.
