SWA FEB Watch LIST (Feb/march is open)

You're planning on going on winter break for our area and there isn't much reason for SW to drop it too much that week..since they fill up. We did some better (I think it was $77 or $79 each way), by going on Monday and having the kids miss a day of school and coming back on Monday this past February. In January and May we went for $49 each way, and just recently the ding was for $40..so the prices are there, just not on "holiday" weeks.

Go on the off times, and we often get $49 each way. That's whay I'm paying for this week (well, if I can even fly out this week, we're trying stand by on Sunday, rather than our flight time on Monday).

Thanks DMRICK...I know but it always seems to never work out for me...it is obviously our schedule...(I always watch your posts ...we are near each other..and I am always amazed at the fare you get  ) My new thing is doing frequent flyer miles. Hope you're enjoying our rainy weather (I was going to go to Great Escape today :confused3 ) :umbrella:

OKAY- to all of us still HANGING IN THERE  lets all chant SWA- SWA we wants FLIGHTS after Feb. 3rd!!!! :cheer2: (Maybe I spent TOO much time watching FOOTBALL over the weekend  ) Joan

If they only open 1 month at a time, I may have to wait for two more openings. I need March 25-April 1st.

Come on SWA. You're my only hope! Otherwise I am stuck in a car 17 hours both ways with two kids! UGH!

OK.....little funny.....I read the post above mine about opening one month at a time, saw the cheerleaders on the post above ...and raced over to SWA with my heart in my mouth only to find the same darned ole' date (darn you February 3rd!!) up there. Well, I'm waiting for Feb 8-15 and REALLY hoping for some nice numbers. So, here we are still waitin' and wishin and hopin' and prayin' ;)

Since they are down to such a short schedule(102 days right now) and since the Denver addition is probably the reason, I would guess they would add 2 months to their current schedule. They do sometimes extend it by more than a month at a time.

Does anyone know when they are supposed to announce the details of their Denver schedule? Because you can probably count on the schedule extension coming sometime after those details are given.

I agree.

I was just coming to ask the same question. That's what I figure is going to happen. the web site says they will announce the schedules and fares sometime this week.

Just jumping on this thread. Also watching for flights from Rochester, NY over April break week: April 20-23...

I just can not believe this...last year you were able to book until the beginnng of March by SEPT 23RD!!!! This is crazy...I would think by now they would be able to book until the beginning of March. :guilty:

I noticed that by THIS date last year you could book until APRIL!!!! I'm really starting to feel like it's almost rude to be keepng people waiting this long.

It is rude! It is murder too! SW is the only airline NOT offering seats beyond Feb 3rd! I need 6 tickets for Feb travel and 4 tickets for April travel. I'm not sure how much longer I can wait...

I'm holding out a bit longer and I won't knock SW, but honestly, I think they're making a bit of a mistake. Look at the people on this thread that have given up and bought tickets with other airlines.

I don't think I've ever been on a fully booked SW flight. Obviously, they make money, but I think waiting this long to release tickets for what is one of the busiest travel seasons of the year is just stupid.

You are absolutely right. I have been watching this thread for several months and have seen the people drop off, one by one, as they book with other airlines. If the people who have posted on this thread represent a microcosm of what has happened with the general public, SWA has lost a lot of potential travelers due to their delay!

Well I'm still hanging in there, but that's because I'm using Rapid Reward tickets! I'd be a wreck if I was waiting to buy. I'm still a bit of a wreck, but not ulcer material yet. From my records, last year they opened up 3/3-4/3 on 10/20, so for those waiting, I would guess that when they do open up it will be through early April. For the rest of you, you might have to wait until December. I still feel that the whole New orleans issue is part of the reason for the delay. They probably normally have full flights in and out of MSY around Mardi Gras and right now service there is still very limited. Adding Denver just compounds the problem.

Till Tomorrow!

Well, I'm just coming to ask about how often SWA releases dates...apparently, I'm not the only one wondering this...I gotta fly them end of March, early April since flying across the country would cost us about double or triple on any other airline. ARG!
