SWA FEB Watch LIST (Feb/march is open)

Hi, I am still hanging :yo-yo: but only by a THREAD!! :rotfl: Hopefully SWA will come out soon with some DECENT prices!! I would be happy with something around $200. from PVD to MCO. If not we may be driving down in Feb.,not my 1st choice for that time of year because of what weather conditions could be like. Joan

I'm impressed that so many of you have hung in there! I bailed out about 3 weeks ago! I got roundtrip, non-stops from DTW to MCO for $279 the week of Feb. 27-March 6. That's decent, but it's no ding fare for sure. SW doesn't fly non-stop so it was a good rational for me to bail out on the wait. My NW flights jumped to $418 right after so I am content.

Best wishes to everyone still waiting! :wizard:

If I want to fly out of Islip, I have to wait for Southwest......JetBlue means driving into JFK and their fares are sky high now for President's week.

Hi  to Amy and Mickey Maniac!!(two RI Disers!) Joan

Hey Humbug, did you look into Song? I know they don't fly out of Islip but they do fly to Orlando out of LaGuardia (very easy to get around the airport). I'm sure the price for President's Week is high but if you miss out on Southwest they are a great airline.

Where on Long Island are you? We're in Hauppauge. Pulling the kids out of school the week before President's Week (only vacation time I get). I booked Song because I got tired of waiting for SWA. I lucked out and got $79.00 each way.

I'm in Rocky Point. My youngest is in her 2nd year of college, but I work in the schools here, so I'm still stuck with the school calendar! The friend I am flying with hates to fly, and last Feb. we flew out of ISP and she was ok. I may try to talk to her about LGA.

Boy, am I dumb....it's been a long day. I would fly on SW for free (rapid rewards) - that's why I'm waiting for Southwest. Good night.

Let's hope that the webcast this morning will be good news for SWA, and they'll release more dates shortly thereafter:

from SWA.com:
Southwest Airlines' Third Quarter 2005 Financial Results conference call to be webcast live on October 20, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. ET.

The webcast was very good news - higher than projected quarterly earnings. Now....WHERE IS OUR SCHEDULE????????? :hyper:

Jetblue and Song are so high for that week right now. If I can snag a good airfare, I'd book a trip. It doesn't look good-I think I'll be vacationing in Rocky Point that week

My guess is that the schedule will open up after February 3 next week after they announce the schedule for Denver. This probably explains why the schedule opening up after 2/3/06 has been so long coming, they've been looking at a new city.

"Southwest Airlines the nation's low-fare leader, announced today it will initiate service from Denver International Airport beginning in early 2006. The airline will announce specifics of its flight schedule and fares via a news conference in Denver next week."

Here's the press release:

Hopefully soon. They are two days away from my dates right now and it's been driving my crazy.

Just a question for those that have booked tickets online before. We have five kids but one is a lap baby and the online reservation will only let us book for a total of six. Should I book Dh with some kids and me and my baby seperately or can I make the reservation for all of us that need seats and than phone and ask them to add a lap baby to my reservation?

Can you not book for up to 8? That is what comes up when I book flights.

OK, I don't think I can continue to wait for mid February fares much longer. Any savings that I would find with SWA will have to be given to my pharmacist for my ulcer medications!

That is so funny!!!

Is there anyone besides me that checks at the top of practically every hour? I thought for certain today was the day!!! And the worst part is, I am not even waiting for February, I need March. :confused3

For those still waiting :grouphug: We are in it together!!! :flower:
