I'm flying to Orlando tomorrow and I see where I can check in early. I don't know if I should do this or not. I have one bag to check. Should I or shouldn't I?

I would definitely check in at the 24 hour mark so that you get a earlier boarding pass number. Otherwise you may end up with a middle seat. Of you don't mind a middle seat then don't worry about it

I always checkin 24 hrs prior to flight departure...doesn't matter what airline! And with SW, just about every other person is going to be checking in at the 24 hr window, if they didn't purchase Early Bird Checkin!!! If you don't check in at that 24 hr window, you're going to get a boarding slot way back in the C group. If you don't mind being in a middle seat, in the back of the plane, fine.
There is absolutely no downside to checking in prior to arrival at the airport.

Early bird checkin is where you pay $15 each way and SW checks you in at 36 hours. If you don't buy it, you can checkin for free at 24 hours.

When I check it right at 24 hours I usually get high A group or low B for full flights. Either will allow 2-4 people to sit together and room for carry on.
