SWA - Discounted Flights After Xmas Already Gone?

SWA just extended their schedule and when I put in dates of travel Dec 30 - Jan 3 or 4 all the specials are blocked out already.

Does SWA block those so they can sell the higher flights for that time and then release them or do you think they are already booked?

SWA dates were extended yesterday. I was wanting to return from our trip on 12/29, but the only date that had the promotional fare available was 12/31, so I extended our trip! I think only a few seats are released for the promotional fare and with people nationwide watching (I was checking twice a day) they go quickly. Keep checking though because it is possible they will release more seats as time goes by. Good Luck!

During peak travel periods (Christmas, Presidents week) they may have few if any discounted fares available. Jan 4 is a blackout date for RR tickets, I doubt they'll have many discounted seats available.

I took a quick look last night when I found out the dates had been released.....None of my possible dates were available...Glad I purchased Southeast Airline tickets last month...

I have been checking regularly since 1:00 Thursday afternoon and have not seen any discounted tickets for the week after Christmas for Islip to Orlando. I even checked after midnight and at 6:30 this morning.

Please don't tell me that discounted tickets for Christmas week will not be out. If I can't get cheap tickets, then I might have to resort to driving... which I really don't want to do.

I heard that Tues, Wed and Thurs is when the discounted tickets are released. So, I am keeping my fingers crossed that on Tuesday something will show up.

I purchased my tix from Southwest yesterday. I checked on line and the promotional fares were unavailable for my return flight in December. I thought this was crazy since the dates had just been extended. I called southwest and they were able to do the promotional fare over the phone. It is worth a shot to give them a call.
