I got my SWA DING to work!!!

When I checked the Ding fares tonight, of course they had a special from BDL to MCO that expired at 11:30 p.m. I had been watching for a special fare, even though I already had booked our Aug. tickets. The problem was that when I had tried to go in and book a DING fare before (just as a practice, until the fare from my city came out), I kept getting error messages and was having trouble with my firewall blocking it. I did follow the steps listed to correct the problem, but still couldn't get it to work.

I ended up completely turning off my Nortorn Internet Security and disabling the firewall. This allowed me to get into the SWA DING fare. I just saved $289.86 off our six tickets for this August! My original reservation for August for 6 people was $1122.60, my new DING Fare rate is $832.74!!!!

The credit for $289.86 will have to be used by 3/06, so it looks like DH and I will have to make another trip home without the kids. Maybe we'll go for a long weekend in December for my birthday!

Forgot to mention, I did have to book our flight out one day earlier, darn! Anyways, we go one day earlier, and now have a nonstop flight out rather than a change in BWI! Now I just have to find a reasonable hotel for Sat. night. Maybe I'll go with the All Stars.

This may be a silly question but here goes....what is "Ding"? We flew southwest last time and i never heard mention of "Ding".

DING is a special feature you download off the SWA website. Once you have this downloaded on your computer you will be notified of special DING fares that you book through this special site. You will not see these special DING rates if you go to the SWA website to book flights. They are available only to those who download this feature. Check out SWA's website homepage and there is a link to download DING.
