SWA considering flying to Mexico/Caribbean/Canada in the future!

THey'd probably take one look at the cost of flying into and out of Pearson and say "forget about it'. We have been scoping out Westjet for a flight in November and the taxes/costs are more than a full SW fare out of BUF. It boggles the mind!

Yes I can't se them coming to YYZ either. But to be able to fly with SWA to Mexico/Caribbean from BUF, that would be great!!!!

I see no need for SWA to come to Canada - the taxes are just way too expensive.

But MExico and the Caribbean - I am on board!

We love flying SWA and if they fly to where we are travelling - that is the airline we take!

They might consider other Canadian airports (like Hamilton).
We just snagged a one way flight back from MCO to Hamilton on Westjet for about 1/2 of what it costs to go to YYZ this coming December (they only go on Saturdays). On the flight going down we got a good priced one way ticket with AC Tango out of YYZ.

I can't see SWA going to other countries for at least 5-10 years as there are not enough unilateral agreements in place and the open skys program won't be open for quite awile. Right now SWA can't fly into Canada and pickup Paxs and fly back to the states. This is known as cabatoge. Yes, Hamilton would be a better choice but if YYZ gets it rent reduction from the government, the prices of the fares should reduce. There are many other taxes that should reudce like the security fee and the NavCan fees. I have booked through US Airways a couple times from YYZ for $320 CDN which was almost the same prices as BUF with exchange and parking, I saved the drive.
