Has anyone had a tight connection through Midway at Chicago on SWA? I booked on a Ding and didn't realize that this is going to be a pretty tight connection. I hope we can make it. What happens if don't? Will they put us on the next flight, provided there's room? The flights are early and we're alright getting back later, so long as dh gets in to work the next day.

I would suggest you try to seat in the front of your inbound flight and try to get off quickly. SW utilizes more than one terminal at Midway and you may have to really hoof it. As far as holding flights or rebooking you for the next flight it really depends on any available seats. SW doesn't hold flights unless there are weather considerations and that would be extreme. As far as rebooking, most of SW flights are very full these days. Did you ever watch the series on A&E called AIRLINE? My DH's favorite oneliner about SW is, "So sorry, you want your $59.00 back?" Just check online to see which terminal you come into and where your connecting flight departs from and be ready to set a new land speed record. Think of it as training for the SM mini marathon!
