SW - Travel Funds Question

Hi Transportation Experts -
Rather than calling SW first, I figured I could check with you guys...

Scenario: I have over $300 in travel funds as a result of re-booking my December trip. These funds are for 3 separate tickets (me, DH & DD).

Question: Can I reuse all $300+ dollars on tickets for just DH & I? I thought at some point in time that once a name was assigned to the funds, that they couldn't be changed - but maybe that only applies to say, letting someone else outside of the 3 original people use the funds.

Yes, you can use all your travel funds for anyone but only until Jan. (not sure of exact date). They are changing there policy. After Jan. travel funds can only be used by the original person on the ticket. A real bummer for many.

Ok, let me make sure I get this. I have credit now because we bought tickets for four people. Does the person who bought them only get the credit or the person who the ticket was bought for?

Also, if I want to sell the credits but can't sell all of the them by the January date, then where does the credit stay? With which person?

Does that make sense??? Clear as mud?

Let's say on confirmation # 123456, you bought tickets for Person A, B, & C... which you were now able to re-book and have $100 credit each ($300) total...

Before January 28 (I called SW and confirmed the date): You can use your $300 to book a flight for ANYONE. It doesn't have to be person A, B or C, - it can be for person D, E, & F, etc. etc.

After January 28: The funds can only be used for Persons A, B, & C (The people the funds were originally assigned to)

if you combine all the credits to buy a "temporary" $300 ticket for sometime in May in person X's name prior to january date, will the $300 stay in person X's name after january, or revert back to the original A B & C?

added: i meant to say...when you eventually know where you want to fly and cancel the temporary ticket....

I'd like to know this as well.....I bought three tickets in August, for my mom, dd and me. I didn't realize my mom had already bought her ticket.

I'd like to cancel her ticket, and buy two "fake" tickets for dd and I, using her funds and then cancel these and then apply those funds to a set of real tickets I need to buy for dd and I in July.

So, will that work?

Okay, I just called SWA, and the person I talked to said that the ticket just has to be rebooked by January 28, if you want to use a credit for anyone. Travel does not have to be completed by that date.
