We are going to Disney Sunday Sept 21 to Sunday Sept 28. The SW rates for Sept are not out yet, but just for fun I checked a Sunday in August to get an idea of when the flights might be.

ABSOLUTE PANIC:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

The first flight of the day on Sunday from St. Louis to Orlando is noon!! I like the early morning flights so you still have most of your day. We wouldn't arrive until 3:20 p.m.

I checked Sundays on other dates and it looked like SW dropped an early morning flight when it released this current schedule. (Sunday flights in Feb-May still have the early flight, past May, noon is the first flight.)

I'm not familiar with SW's scheduling process. I wonder if there is a chance it could be put back on when the next schedule is released?

Anything can happen as far as their (or any airline's) schedule goes, but it is less likely that they would be adding flights in one of the slower travel seasons (September) vs. a higher volume season (August).

I'd keep an eye on their website, since they're trying very hard to squeeze as much revenue out of each plane as much as possible without buying more planes.

I do expect them to modify their schedule a few more times this year, as they've always done.

I'm sure this is what you meant, but just to be clear for others that may not be as familiar with SW... SW does not modify their schedule after it's published (like other airlines do), but they are likely to modify it (compared to the current schedule) when they release the next set of dates.

What I meant was that they'll modify their timetables/schedules a few times per year, and usually whenever they introduce new service between major cities, such as their forthcoming nonstop service from LA to Denver starting in May.

Since their business model (point-to-point) is theirs alone and substantially more efficient, and their fuel hedges are still intact (not quite as good as they used to be, but still the envy of the industry), they don't have to modify their schedules once they're issued as the legacy carriers do.
