SW Rapid Rewards question

I have never flown SW before. Previously, we have only flown with Frontier and their frequent flyer miles were earned by the amount of miles you flew, not by the amount of money you spent on the ticket. So, my question is, how does SW work that with kids? If I purchase four tickets for my family, do all the the rewards go under my RR# because I am paying the entire bill, or do my kids need a RR# and one ticket will be credited to their account.
