SW Rapid Rerwards ?

I see that SW has a special going right now that you get 2 credits for each leg of a trip when you purchase a ticket while being logged into your account.

I thought I read on here where you can log into your account but purchase tickets for other family members. I just tried to do this and it would not work. Am I doing somethign wrong or did I misunderstand the special promotion?

the two credits are for everyone regardless where they are booked until november 17 or so regukar reservations or My Southwest login


the bonus for booking when logged to My Southwest was an extra credit for each round trip up to a maximum of 3 credits ( the window for this credit goes beyond november 17th for travel times but might have to be booked earlier than that date )

This is from the RR newsletter (Oct. 14):

From October 14 to November 15, 2005, purchase travel for yourself after you login to MySouthwest and receive one (1) bonus credit for each roundtrip!

Bonus Credit Rules: Travel must be purchased for yourself between October 14 and November 15, 2005, while logged into MySouthwest. The Member will receive one (1) bonus credit per qualifying roundtrip; limited to three (3) bonus credits per Member. Credits will be posted to the account within one (1) week of the promotion period ending. Please Note: Travel must be booked through MySouthwest after logging in and must be displayed in the "Next Scheduled Flight" section in order to qualify for this offer.


In 2 places it's noted for "yourself" so that's why it won't work for other family members.

The for "yourself" part is what I kept finding too.

What confused me was that I thoght I had read here that people were using their own accounts to get credits for flights purchased for family members.

But I guess I did it right.

I still wish DING would pick up a bit. It seems to be really slow and not ever offering the flights I need!
