SW price increase...insane!

One thing I don't like about using points is that everyone has their own confirmation number, even our kids! We're going to 24hr check in one adult from each group first so they can at least get on board and gets seats figured out for the rest of us, because it will be impossible to get everyone confirmed right at the 24 hour mark. I don't have that many devices with internet at my house! :rotfl:

I'm in the same boat!! I just found this out a couple of nights ago when I booked the flight for my parents, my 4 nephews, and I. My oldest nephew is 10 and the youngest 6 so this will be a challenge for us. I was thinking I would check 1 adult and the oldest nephew in first and they can get on and sit in aisle seats across from one another and just hope that we can fill in the seats around them.

I know people on here get all upset about "seat saving" on SW, and say we should just pay for early check in for everyone. However, we can't afford to that (this is a Disneyland trip of a lifetime for us and our budget took a hit when my mother suffered a stroke 3 weeks ago and is no longer able to work). The alternative of us holding everyone up at the end of boarding while we try to swap seats so the kids are not sitting with strangers is only going to tick people off more. You know you do not want to sit next to someone else's kid, even if they are well behaved. It's much better for everyone if two of our group just grab a couple rows towards the back (where nobody wants to sit anyway) and save the seats together.

I understand that completely. My folks will be flying from SEA to Midway, and we are flying from PDX to Midway. Then we are getting on the same flight at Midway and continuing to MCO. On the way back, we're all on the same flight from MCO to PDX. The only thing that has me a bit worried is finding seats together on the flight from Midway to MCO. It's originates in PHX, so that's a bit of a relief because SW has cheaper and quicker flights for people wanting to get to MCO rather than flying up North to Midway. Our kids will be 11 and 13 years old. Should be an adventure! :)

I will have to do the multiple window thing. I didn't think about that. Just load everyone up and click click click!

Just wanted to update from my earlier posts. Two of the non stops I was looking at opened up yesterday and were great prices ($123 and $145). I booked the $123. Now we just have to hope for the return flights to come down. We need to come home on the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of Labour Day weekend. I know they are going to be high, but right now they are still ridiculous.
