Hello, I. Am sure this answer is obvious somewhere, but I. Just can't seem to find it. In am wondering if it is possible to use SW points to pay for a Disney hotel stay. I tried going through the process of booking a room on the SW website (just short of actually completing the transaction) and was only given a dollar amount due for a room; didn't see an option to use points. Does anyone know if this is possible and if there is a certain way to do it on the SW website? Thank you for any help!

You cannot use RR points to book a Disney package or hotel through the SWA website. In general, it's a very poor use of your reward points to use them for anything other than booking airfare. But if you're not interested in flying on Southwest and want to put those points to use for your Disney vacation, here's a roundabout way to do it.

Once you're logged in to your RR account (you have to be logged in to do this), click on the Rapid Rewards link in the upper right of the webpage.

A pop up window will appear with a number of links. Choose the one that says More Rewards.

A new window or tab will open to a website run by AwardHQ. Click on the Gift Cards tab. Then choose Travel from the list on the left.

Go to the last page and choose Walmart GCs (5,000 RR points for a $50 GC).

Take your Walmart GCs to Sam's Club to buy Disney GCs. Use the Disney GCs to pay for your resort room.

Thank you for this info. I figured it might not be worth it to use points for anything but flights and you've confirmed it and given some good advice should I decide to use the points in another way. Thank you so much!

5,000 for a $50 GC is not a good use of your points. Right now 5700 points is worth a $100 flight double what you get for a $50 gift card. So your points save you more money if you use them for flights.

you can most certainly book hotel rooms thru the SWA travel website...:thumbsup2 if you look on the right of your screen you will see options- I have looked at it frequently, and used it in the past. A few years ago I found a good use of my points by staying onsite at Universal at NO oop cost to me..... The value of our rooms at that time around 300 per night, plus all the perks.... so it was worth it to me. I would look to see if they have any Disney hotels listed, I have seen them from time to time I believe, but it's a room only, not a package deal.
In my example it was an excellent use of points for 4 people

I don't see where in the Southwest Vacations site that you can change the $$ to points to pay for the flight/ hotel with points..... :confused3

it's a different link than the vacations section..... you have to look under your rapid rewards section...I think it's under 'travel, rewards, other'(can't remember right this second, it's that box on the right side of screen, this is different from the packages they offer. I am referring to a way to use points thru their little portal that shows hotels (rooms) for a certain number of points. Not a package. I got tickets elsewhere.

Found it, thank you ! And oh lord!! I priced out the Hard Rock at Universal for 7 nights and it came to 280,000 points! I'm not sure I'll ever have that many points in my lifetime. :crazy2: I'll stick to the free flights.... but thank you for posting this.
