Do you have to have enough for a full flight to use them? Or can they be applied and then you pay the bal? If so how do you do it online?:confused3

When looking at the flights, convert the price to points. When you click to start a purchase, the screen will say that you need X amount of points but you only have Y amount. Then it says, "Click here to buy more points." Then you choose how many points you need and pay with a credit card. Then those points you just bought automatically get added to your total points. You can complete the purchase from there. That's the only way to do it as I learned a few days ago.

You have to have enough points for at least one way. For example, you can pay points for 1 person to fly to Orlando and cash to fly home.

You can do this, and if you're just a little bit short it can be a good plan, but the price per point is high compared to actual fares. For instance, I just priced a one-way to Orlando and a ticket that goes for $178 with tax would take 9360 points to buy. Purchasing that many points (10,000 actually since you have to buy in blocks of $100) would cost $250.
