We are leaving in a week (YAHOO!!) and I was planning on using the on line check in. If my family is all on the same confirmation does that make us multi ticketed? I am afraid I already know the answer. Oh well, we don't check luggage so I can still do the kiosk check in. Just wanted to double check for sure if anyone knows. Thanks. BTW, what a pain if you have to make seperate ressies for everyone so you can check in online. The way SW flights go I would be afraid someone would not get a ticket by the time I was done.

We were booked all on one ticket for our upcoming DL trip. I called SW and they gave us each our own confirmation number so that we could do the online checkin.::MickeyMo

That's what we did too. SW separated the reservation.

However, I was unable to check in on-line. Never could get into the system. We still received "A" boarding passes when we checked in at the airport. We had a 7:00 a.m. flight and we were there are 5:00 a.m.

We'll be flying SW this summer and haven't flown in quite a while - so how does the internet check-in work?

I just got back today using SW. We did not do online check-in because we went to an airport hotel the night before departure and then didn't have access to a printer for flight home. We got A passes both times checking in about 1 1/2 hours ahead.

I always buy all tickets at the same time so I have only one confirmation number. I still check in online for eveyone. SWA just asks if you want to check in others at the same time by checking the box next to their name. There has been no reason to call to issue separate confirm numbers in my experience.

How long have you been checking in online with SWA. Their site states :

Check In and Print Boarding Pass
If you have an existing Southwest Airlines Ticketless flight reservation, you may check in for your flight and print your Boarding Pass beginning 12:01 AM local time the day of departure. Boarding Passes may not be printed for flights that have already departed or for the following types of reservations: multi-passenger, group, senior, infant, youth, and military.

Gail, I think what the poster is thinking of is the security document. You can print this for everyone on your confirmation, but the boarding pass is a different story. When I flew on AirTran I picked my seats and got our boarding passes from one confirmation. I wonder why SW doesn't do it this way?

They probably have not set up their system to do it this way.
I never use the security document feature, probably cause I get my boarding passes at the skycap station.
