If I check in online and get the "C" class, am I better off not accepting those and trying to get to the airline early enough to get an "A" or "B"? Does Southwest hold back some "A" and "B" passes for people checking in at the airport?

None are held back, and you can't refuse to accept the online "letter group" that you get; it isn't assigned until you are checked in, and once it is, it is permanent. If you are eligible to preboard you get to ignore it, but it doesn't really matter for others; you get out of your group and everyone else moves back one place in the "virtual" queue.

When SWA first started online checkin they distributed the groups and held some back, but they don't do it anymore.

Thanks. As you can tell, I haven't done the online checkin before. Now my problem is that I won't have a computer to check in for the return flight. I'll end up in the "C" class.

You can ask at Guest services at any park, or at your hotel's front desk; they will check you in as long as you have your reservation paperwork with you.

I check 3 different ressie's in while in line to BTMRR last week from my cell phone.

I ended up with #'s 1 .6,7,9,10 .A's

But the front desk will check you in and print for you or if you have someone at home you trust have them check you in and reprint the passes at the airport.

Give someone your confirmation number at home and have them check you in. Then you just reprint when you get to the airport down there. Works great!

If you have a cell phone phone with internet access you can also check in at mobile.southwest.com and print your boarding passes at the airport. All you need is your confirmation number! :thumbsup2
