...4th of July rates? I cannot believe they're calling that a "Sale"!!! $122/ea way from Chicago to Orlando? Not so special. Thank goodness we already booked with a Ding last week for $79 ea. way.

SW has been really strange lately. These email "sales" can't be good for them. Anyone familiar with SW knows these fares are horrible.

Got that email this morning and just about had a heart attack. I've been watching for DINGS for our Sept-Oct flights. Yesterday the Internet fare was $79-87 each way. This AM it is $79-132! I very quickly booked the $79 fares. I didn't want to risk it. At least now I have them, now to just wait and see if a DING will come out. :rolleyes1

I agree, our flight went from 79 last night to a "sale" of 132 today:lmao: :scared1: . I sure don't want to cancel our free dining package but if prices don't fall into place, it is not looking good:sad2:

Folks I am sorry, but some of you are being unrealistic. $79 each way is a great fare.....Yes, you MIGHT get a Ding but planning on less then this with today's cost struture is probably not good planning.

$79 is a decent fare, no doubt. Fares from Manchester to Providence in July are $160 and up each way. Those are bad. You can fly Delta and Jet Blue cheaper than that.

I am happy with my $79 rate. I just think when they say "Sale", the rates should not be higher than what their internet special was last week, which was $84/each way. But, that's just me.

You're right. I've been spoiled by many $49 - $69 fares in the past, so the $79 fare I booked last week is sounding pretty great right about now.

Ditto-bit the bullet & booked. When last round was released, I booked same day for 99 each way. I was able to get it down to 36 w/o a Ding. Keeping those digits crossed for a drop.

I know it's wishful thinking that we'll get a DING for less, but I'm used to $39-59 to MCO. I guess those days are over, huh?
Yes, it is a joke to have a "sale" when the price is $50 higher than the day before.

I booked our August flights in June at $99 hoping for a cheaper Ding, but so far the "Dings" and "sales" have ben more!! I'd be happy for one of those $79 Dings, but there haven't been any from Hartford!:confused3 Last year I paid $49 and I know that rate is history, but one can dream!!

I booked last week with a Ding rate of $84 ea. way. It had been $160 ea. way for the flights we wanted. I remember when I was thrilled with anything under $200 r/t. We have been very spoiled by the $49 and $59 one way rates. Southwest will still always be my first choce.

Question? If you book your fare now and a ding comes out can you switch to that special and if so how? We would really like to fly our family of 4 but the best we see is around 100 PP one way. Really looking for a little less than that but not sure it will happen. Can a book now and if a Ding comes out switch to that? Any help is appreciated as we don't fly often.

Add me to the spoiled group. I loved the 49.00 prices. This year they are 114.00 with a ding. sorry not a bargain. Air Tran is 84.00 each way, I may have to try a different airline.

Just sunday booked $49 flights in OCT and AUG, internet special from Philly to Orlando. Then they put up Ding for $96 thru Oct. Ckeck the internet special first.

Those $49 prices are still there! For the trip we just got back I booked one way down with a ding of $49 and one way back with an internet special at $44....112 roundtrip total!

Can you tell me how that works? You booked a $79 fare.....if a DING fare comes out that is better do you get a refund of the difference....or do you just get a $79 credit and then you use part of that credit on the DING fare and the rest of the credit must be used later? Can ANYONE use the credit? There are three of us flying, and we already have 2 vouchers from DH's business travels, so I'll likely have to buy one flight unless he travels more than planned in the next few months, lol. If I book now to ensure we are all on the same flight and the voucher seats are all taken....if a lower flight comes out can I get a cash refund, or only a credit? If a credit, could DH use it even though he's not flying with us this time?

Thanks!

 I just got a 64.00 ding

Still hoping for 49.00, but better than the 84.00 airtran. Well the airport is 1/2 hour farther away, but boy is it worth it.
