SW Miles Booking Question

We're headed to WDW over Spring Break. We have 53,000 ultimate rewards points from our Chase Sapphire, and DH has about 2,000 points on his SWRR account, giving us 55K points to use for SW. DH is doing a conference for work, so his work will buy his plane ticket, leaving us with 3 tickets to buy-- one adult and two kids. Here's my problem: We only have enough points for 2 and a half flights, so we'll have to book one person's one-way leg to Orlando by paying cash. That leaves me with:
One reservation with two round trip tickets paid with points
One one-way reservation (HOU to MCO) paid with cash
One one-way reservation (MCO to HOU) paid with points

If I book the two round trip tickets as the kids' tickets, will they be considered "unaccompanied minors," since my ticket(s) will be on a separate reservation? Likewise, if I book me and one kid with points, will the other kid be considered an "unaccompanied minor?" Is there a way to note that both DH and I will be on the plane under different reservations? Thanks for your help!

You could buy the points you need to get the 3rd ticket and reserve them all with points.

I get tickets for my kids separately using SW points often. IIRC, it does ask if there's an adult traveling with him but doesn't demand the adult's conf #.

The main reason I choose the free travel for kids' seats (when someone has to travel on a cash reservation) is that the free travel doesn't earn RR points. I find it's much easier to have my account earn as much points as possible (CC, SW Shopping Mall, Bonuses, etc.) and just keep enough earning activity in dh & kids' accounts to keep them active.

It will cost me about $50 more to buy the points. I will do that if there isn't another way to link all the reservations, though. Thanks for the idea.

BTW, even if you use one RR account to book for multiple people, everyone automatically gets a different conf #. It's a PITA but I'll gladly deal with that in exchange for free flights. :goodvibes

So if you want a decent board position its best to do EBCI. Otherwise you will have 4 separate confirmation numbers to check in at the 24 hr mark on each direction of your trip.

Happy news!! The flight prices went down today. I was able to book all three tickets by buying $82 worth of points :woohoo::cool1:. Now off to book a few extra nights at POP, since we'll be staying longer than expected and this mama can't afford the GF after DH's conference is over ;).
