Sw & Magical Express

My cousin is heading to Disney tomorrow flying Southwest. I've never flown Southwest before. How does Magical Express work for them? Do their bags get automatically sent to their resort or do they have to get them from baggage claim and bring them to the bus themselves? Also how does their return trip work?
Thanks I only pretty much fly Delta and wasn't sure how ME worked for Southwest.

Short version, they can use DME from MCO to their resort with luggage transfer. They will put the yellow DME tags on their bags before they leave and disney will deliver their bags from MCO to their room..


This is assuming they made DME reservations... If they didnt I think it's too late now to be able to take advantage, I THINK you need 48 hours notice.

For the return trip, if they are staying at POP or all stars, they can check their bags there before heading back to MCO if not they will need to take their bags on the bus BACK to MCO. Again, this is assuming they have DME reservations.

Thanks for your quick response! That's what I thought and yes they have reservations and the ME tags for their luggage!

Going to Disney it works the same way for all airlines.

Arriving before 10 PM you can go directly to the DME welcoming area and the bags will be delivered for you.

Optionally anyone can go to the carousels to get non-yellow-tagged bags.

Arriving after 10 PM everyone has to go to the carousels to get their bags first.
