It's for our downward leg, the return flight will be released in a few weeks. I assume it will be in the form of a credit and if so, can I apply it to our return flight when we book that?

Thanks,

You should see an option for Change flights. Mine shows up in top right corner under Quick Air Links: Check-in/ Change Flights/ Check Flight Status. It is very straightforward, select your flight, select new flight etc. It walks you through it. I have only changed on points, and the points show up instantly so I am guessing that your credit will also show up quickly, so you should be able to use it when you book new flights for return.

Thanks, one further question, will we retain our EarlyBird check in?

Hopefully someone else can answer that has done it, but my guess would be yes. Have not bought early check in so I can not say for sure. I would guess it just carries over.

You need to CHANGE, not cancel and rebook. If you cancel and rebook, EBCI goes away.

Thanks for all the help and please excuse my ignorance. So... I sign into my account, find my upcoming trip, Hit Change, search for flights then choose the same flight I have that now carries a lower right? The Early Bird will go to it?

Thanks again,

PP is correct - if you change it then you will keep EBCI. Another concern I had is that it would appear we purchased EBCI on the day we made the change, as opposed to the day we booked the flight originally. This is important because EBCI customers are checked in by the order in which it was purchased. The phone agent told me it wouldn't affect that, and I believe that to be true because we had around A20 both going and coming, and we had changed both flights to get the lower fare credit.

Yes

Keep checking! I have rebooked one of my tickets 4 times so far! Our flights are for the end of the month. It actually went down again today and hate to say I am too lazy to rebook again. lol I have 4 tickets under 3 reservations, so it gets a little tricky to get them all reduced.

At the risk of sounding silly, is there any way to find out what the price of each individual flight that I already booked was? I thought it would be on my confirmation but it's not. I didn't know getting credit back was an option. I'd like to look and see if the prices dropped but I booked round trip and I don't remember what each one was. Thanks in advance!

I have only booked one ways, so I am not sure. I guess if they add up to less, you can safely rebook.

In your email confirmation at the time of original booking. I use a spreadsheet to track points used so it's easier to compare prices. If you use SW a lot that's probably the best way since you may have multiple bookings across the year.

Occasionally I have searched my emails for "Southwest Airlines"
If I remember the date that is helpful.
I usually have to check a couple of "Southwest Airlines" emails received
before I get the info I am looking for (points spent/refunded etc )
I assume a SWA email would/could include money spent $$

The method I use to view my points activity is:
1) Log on
2) My Account
3) Recent Activity
