SW Early Bird Question

I have purchased EB check-in for my family to/from Orlando. For flights that are not direct, does the EB check in apply to both legs of a trip? I know I will have EB priority for the first leg, but when I get to Chicago, will this apply to my boarding location for that leg too?

It covers all legs, just like every other airline check-in.

OK, I've got a similar question as I have never flown SW. As my SW plane makes a stop, are all passengers taken off the plane then re-boarded based on check-in position for the 2nd leg of the flight?

Edbo77, passengers who are scheduled on the flight do not have to deplane prior to their final destination (unless the airline changes equipment). Usually, people already onboard the plane are given an opportunity to reseat themselves prior to new passengers coming aboard.

In some cases, when there is a long layover, passengers will be allowed to deplane. If so, they do not have to requeue to reboard, but their boarding pass will have their origin point, so the agent knows they aren't cheating. Southwest generally discourages people getting off the plane until they've arrived at their destination (or transit point) because it could delay the flight.
