Sw ding today for PHL/MCO is $93!!! I booked aug 26 to sept 5 at $99 aug and $79 return in sept. The ding last week was $44 but only until aug 31. So I rebooked by aug 26 flight and got more then half off. Now I am waiting for a good sept ding. Today they give a $93 ding, more then the $79 internet price I got a few weeks ago without a ding... What is up with that?

Sheesh, yeah, wait - its got to get better, Airtran has cheaper flights.
I couldnt wait for a Ding cause I have ants in my pants nerves. So I did the WDWTravel co deal for $157 total pp -- the flights I am on are showing 300$ a seat if you buy thru Airtran.

Waiting is nerve racking... good luck... I am sure your dates will come up for 39$ Dings soon.

I was disappointed too. We are cruising 8/26 thru 9/2 so our dates are solid. I booked at $101 each way when the August fares were released. I was able to take advantage of the $44 Ding! for our way down, but was hoping for a cheaper fare for the way home. When the Ding! came out today for Sept I was disappointed. I kept my $101 return fare, as the only Ding! that was left, was not a nonstop flight. I figure $145 total roudn trip for a nonstop flight is fine with me.

that happened to me last year. I got the ding for $89 each way. I was shocked how high it was but b/c it was right after Hurrican Katrina, I thought gas prices just went up. Literally the next day after the allegedly great ding, there was a SW regular email sale for only $49 each way! Needless to say, I called up SW to give them a piece of my mind and they refunded my money so I could book the new rate. I think those Ding rates are a bunch of hooey to just get you so excited you'll buy anything!

Are you sure that ding was for Sept? I've been looking and every ding I see is for only up to Aug 31st.

It was sept on my original post. I have not seen a ding since for sept. but that was no ding.

I have been getting Sept Dings all week.

I agree sometimes they are no deal, you need to know your prices. So far no deals for us, we would love to fly but at current prices it is less than half as much to drive (even if I price the trip at $4 a gallon).

Ok I just saw a ding for sept. though not for philly. I'll keep looking!

iluvepcot: we are leaving the 26th too, maybe i'll see ya there!

I keep getting ridiculous dings for my airports too.
I'm looking for Sept out of BHM or Nashville. I've seen an $80 ding out of BHM and today the ding out of BNA was $112 (about $6 cheaper than the internet rate)! :sad2:

I'm hoping lower dings or sales rates will come out since all of the fares are open and since I'm flying to Florida in September!

Almost forgot to mention that last year I booked around the same time frame using a $29 ding each way!

If it costs that much why not drive? I figure from DC it will be 25-26 gallons which amounts to $75 (or less, gas is cheaper down south). Flying is worth it at $99 fares but at $199 fares, times 3 people, I'll just drive it. Done it many times before.

We are on our way to north car beaches. Now (murphy law) a phl ding will happen for sept. You wait and see. I wish they had dings for blackberrys.

I think SWA is betting on the negative press about rising airfares to sucker some folks into premature DING-ing. There was one today for CMH to MCO for $110 or something like that - which is about twice the DING for about two weeks ago that would allow you to book through July end. We're not going till November, so I'm still just a casual observer. I won't flinch, though... If I don't get a good DING, I'll drive!

I have SWA booked for BWI-MCO Sept 30 at $89. If a better fare via Ding comes out and I take it, and then another, even better Ding comes along can I still take advantage of it, or do Dings not work like regular SWA fares?

Thanks, Jackie

I have noticed that Ding seems to get less worth it all the time. Last year we booked our flights in December for $29 each way from Nashville but lately all the Ding fares for Nashville to Orlando are ranging $90 - $119! I am still holding out hope for September!

HI! Could you tell me what the walt disney world travel deal is? and how you get it? We are going in April over Easter and we are staying at the ASMU Family Suites! If you could explain that travel deal I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Yes, you can keep changing your ding airfare to a lower ding airfare, but difference in the amount of the higher ding and lower ding will only be credited to you. Dings are non-refundable. I don't like SWA holding my money if I can help it. ;)

I'm looking for Sept out of BHM or Nashville.

I just booked my IL's on Delta out of Nashville. It came to $205/person for nonstop flights. SWA was considerable higher for the same days and matched the Delta rate if they stayed an extra day. I guess we could wait for a Ding! but nothing I've seen lately looked that impressive.

I am disappointed with the Ding pricing also. I booked $89 RDU/MCO for our trip next month, and have been watching the dings like a hawk hoping for something better. Today there was a ding for Raleigh at $84! Sheesh. And I couldn't even get that as my flights were 'Unavailable'.
SW still has the cheapest N/S flights for my dates, but I have waited months for a really good ding, just to see $84!!!!

pjupton - I don't blame you for going ahead and booking. If I could get a decent rate on Delta out of Huntsville (home airport), I would certainly book it. I'm only driving to BHM or BNA if a really good Ding comes along. Otherwise we'll drive. :guilty: :drive: :crazy2:

I didn't get a good ding for the fall last year until July, so I'm still holding out hope. ::yes::  pirate:
