SW crowds at Christmas???

We are making a trip at the holidays and wonder what day would be best to go to SW? Has anyone been on Christmas Day or the day after? Thanks for any suggestions.
 
Now I'm contemplating SW on the day before Christmas. Hours are shorter but perhaps the crowds will be less. Any opinions?
