sw credit questions...

I may have to cancell my trip. Can I get a credit for my sw airfare? How do I go about doing so?

If you purchased a non-refundable ticket, SW will hold the funds for you and you can apply them to a future purchase. They are good for 1 year from when you originally purchased the air fare. You can cancel online and the funds will automatically be saved for you. You'll need your confirmation number from the cancelled flight to pull up the funds in the future. You can also let someone else use the funds. So if you're not planning to fly with SW within the next year, you can given or sell your funds to friends or co-workers who are traveling.

thanks, so I just cancell the flight online and then how how I see the funds available??? sorry I've never done this before...

If you go to the Travel Tools on the SWA website, there is a link for View Ticketless Travel Funds. Click that and enter your confirmation number and it will show you the amount of funds you have available. There is also a link to request a refund, so you could try that and see if they will give you a refund. They might not, but it can't hurt. Also, when you book your next flight, when you get to the payment part, there is a place to enter you ticketless travel funds and you just enter the cancelled confirmation number and it will apply the funds to your new flight.

On the one year expiration, does that mean you have to use the credit to purchase a ticket within one year, or do you have to complete your travel within the year? I am guessing the first but I have never had a credit before now. Thanks

Travel must be COMPLETED by the expiration date.
