SW credit card

How long did it take to get the points posted on your reward account? I made my first purchase on 5/4. Still no points. :rolleyes1

I want to book our flights for September!

Right after your first bill is issued.

Where are people finding the offer for 50,000 points? Did you get an email or paper mail or find an offer on their website?

I've read that (at least in the past) the 50,000 points are qualifying points for a companion pass. Is that still true? And do they qualify for A-list status? My DH is close to A-list status and if these points qualify I would have him sign up for the card, assuming I get or can find the 50,000 point offer.

I would call customer service and inquire. Have you made a purchase and paid for that purchase? If so, your points should have already posted to your account. At least ours have .. we applied for the card in early May, immediate approval, made purchase and paid balance online right away, points were in our account less than a week later!

It was a SW promo about the beginning of May and if you signed up for a new CC you got 50,000 points

Thanks. My question is really about how people found out about the offer. Did they receive a targeted offer in the mail or via email or was this posted on a website somewhere and open to anyone? If it was an open offer, where was it posted? It would be helpful to know so that those of us who may be interested know where to look in the future.

I received an email offer in late May. I just called this week and was approved.

I didn't receive an email offer- I just happened to be checking the website for the new flight schedule and I saw the promotion on the home page of the website.

Yep! I got my first bill already and paid it immediately. Still no points. It does say that it could take 6-8 weeks when signing up. I guess I will wait a couple more weeks and then call to ask. :thumbsup2

** I usually find info about interesting offers ** online @ various = Travel Forums ... such as DisBoards (Budget or Transportion Board) ... the SWA Credit Card offer is a example of an ongoing discussion ...

also, anyone know if you can pay for a flight with points and with cash, or does it have to be all of one - either all points or all cash? thx!

it does have to be one or the other. What i did was call customer service..she told me she could check the flights i was interested in and see how many seats were available. Since there were plenty, i went online and used the points for 3 of the tickets and then paid cash and booked the other 2 together so the one child we had would definately be in line with an adult. Each ticket you get with points will have its own confirmation number, and the ones you get with cash can go on the same confirmation . It worked out great for us. good luck !

What is the link that says you get 50,000 points when you sign up.The site I am looking at says 25,000

There is an annual fee. Sometimes it is $69 and sometimes $99. The points are deposited into your chase account on the SECOND cycle unless you get lucky.

You can do both, but you have to book them separately as 2 different transactions.

Unless I am misunderstanding your intent, this is not correct. Please see my post above this one. I just did this on June 4th.

It is generally on your 2nd statement/billing cycle.
