Can I really make a connection in Baltimore in only 35 minutes? It doesn't seem possible, yet SW is booking that. I've bought EB, but I'm thinking I should change to a flight with at least 50-60 minutes between flights? I don't suppose they hold the flight for connecting passengers, do they?

Because of past flight delays and the fact I like to stretch & relax a bit in between flights ... 35 / 45 minutes is a red flag to me.

I prefer to book connecting flights with a layover of 55 minutes or more ... actually 1 1/2 hours is my ideal amount of time.

SWA starts Boarding 1/2 hour before flight departs (when schedule is on time) ... YMMV

Yes I have seen them hold a Flight for arriving passengers ... But it Has Never Happened for Me
and according to Murphys Law = It Never Will.

It can be done if the first flight is not delayed but you may end up boarding at the end of the line. At BWI Swouthwest has 2 terminals and although they are next to each other the walk could take 10 minutes or more from gate to gate plus the time it takes to get off the first plane. If you're late getting in then your checked luggage may not make it either.

Take the flight with the longer layover.

Yes you can make it, but that is too tight for me. If your originating flight is late, you won't make it. I'd go for the longer connection.

Southwest now has three terminals at BWI. In addition to the A and B terminals they are now using gates in the C terminal. Passengers can get from the C terminal to the A/B terminal without having to go through security as there is a new inside security connector. It is however a longer walk than just going from A to B. At BWI I would never plan on a shorter connect time than 50 minutes.
