Have you done TSA precheck before? If not going to make a few suggestions:

He will not be able to bring you with him through TSA precheck, since you only listed 2 numbers I assume there are no kids going so:

Pack and choose who gets what bag based on the precheck. Do you have a laptop? DH gets that bag so it doesn't have to come out of the bag. If you have only one quart size bag (this is what DH and I do as we have bigger/more toiletries in our checked bag). If so DH gets that too.

DH gets the max carryons (so one full size and one personnal item) if all you have to carry on is one backpack and one roller bag that means he takes everything. If you have two backpacks you keep one. The idea is to give security the least amount of stuff to have to check when you go through the full security so it goes faster.

So with what DH and I travel with it would go like this:
1 large backpack with laptop and toiletry bag
1 small roller bag (with change of clothes etc)
1 small backpack

Person with TSA gets the large backpack and roller bag since they can just put that stuff on the belt, walk through without removing shoes, grab the stuff and be done.

Person without gets the smaller backpack with nothing that has to come out of it. That way they only have to deal with that and their shoes.

My husband and I always get TSA Pre because we have Global Entry. However, if we didn't, and one of us got it, we'd just go through the regular security line together.

Thank you!
No, we've never gotten it before. I'm glad if only one of us got it that it was him. I wear slip on shoes, no belt and never have anything in my pockets. Him? Well, like I said, I'm glad it was him. ::yes::

I checked out the TSA site for the specifics but thank you for reminding me that he can bring 2 things through! I completely forgot about that. We usually just each have a carry on & I have my pocketbook so now my life is easier all around.

Technically, he can take your pocketbook too. However, unless you have a baggie of liquids in your pocketbook, it wouldn't be worth the embarrassment. :-)
